Creative writing is great, but freelancing usually involves more structured pieces, espeically if it's web writing or blogging. It's rare that you get paid to write creatively, but if that is your goal then I suggest you put together a portfolio and find yourself a literary agent.

For fun I wrote really ed up and vulgar stories that were very funny to me but just made other people think I was crazy. The one real piece I wrote was an article for a caribbean music magazine.
