Not a bad deal when you think about what Alex Smith is getting or alot of other guys not named Brady are making.

It's a good contract for both the Cowboys and Romo. Jamarcus Russell is making almost as much and he hasn't done jack yet, much less lead a team to a 12-5 mark in his first 17 starts.

Worked out for the best. Cowboys got to see if last year (Playoffs snafu included) wasn't a fluke.

Then, Romo has his worst game. Helping their bargaining position.

Now, they lock him into a good deal for both sides. He can play with the comfort of knowing that he's good to go.

    Less pressure=better results......You hope!

Jerry was smart to get the deal done right now. If Romo got a new contract before November 5th the Cowboys would be able to use some of his new money on this years salary meaning we would have more to spend next year on FA's.

    Good job Jerrah

I just heard on the radio that Romo's contract means he makes more than Tom Brady. Is that really true? If it is, wow.

    They got some salaries here
I think that since the cap has kept going up, that guys like Peyton and Brady's contracts are just out of date. Bulger and Russel got bigger contracts than they are on, think its just a reflection of the cap.
This list says that Peyton is the third highest paid guy on his own team

I just like to beat on the fact that everyone had this cat so overrated. I have a friend who is a 49er fan and feel sorry for him. As a Lion fan we know a thing or two about an over hyped QB we have had our share.

At press conference the 1st question was to the effect of "Will this change you?"

    Romo goes:

"Well, I'm a much better person now because I make more money."

Try winning a playoff game before paying him.

I remember reading that when Brady signed his contract, he actually took less money so that the team can remain compe ive. Then he was pissed when they didn't sign Deion Branch and wondered why he took "less money" But Im sure he's happy now with Moss as his WR. But Moss is a free agent at the end of the season so we'll see if NE dishes out the biggest contract a WR has ever gotten, or lets Moss walk.
