that would be awesome if they did. but the west is just too tough this year. for heaven's sake, utah is 7th and GS (despite how good they've been lately) is 8th
in face of all their adversisties they have have been playing good consistenlty and i wont be suprised if the squeezed into that 8th spot.. i know its early but i like the way they are playing

Agreed, the West is just too deep, especially this year.
They have already overachieved their expectations and I give them a lot of credit for that. It's only going to make them a much scarier team once they do finally get Oden on the court.
But there are too many talented, veteran clubs this side of the bi-line for them to squeeze in. , right now the Rockets can't even find a spot.
Put em' in the East, they'd be tearing it up.
Portland is a good young team. I think they have a chance to make the playoffs. The Warriors and Hornets are far from shoe ins to make the playoffs. In a few years with Oden,Roy and Aldridge and Webster and Outlaw they can be the top team in the West.
I can see Hornets dropping off a bit (I don't think they'll end up better than the mavs, jazz). Rockets will probably pick it up. GS I think will make it barring any injuries. West is still too tough.
well some tieams are jsut unforatuante to be in the west..well i think either rockets or warriors not going to make the playoffs this year
dont underestimate the hornets. they have been really impressive this year. especially the play of chris paul. but i will agree that the blazers are in line to become the new spurs.
Far from it. Paul is a great point guard but he is injury prone. If he misses any significant amount of time the Hornets might not recover and be knocked out of playoff contention same with the Warriors and Baron Davis. The Rcokets,Lakers and Jazz are right now behind the Hornets in the standings. Do you think the Hornets are better then those teams? I want to see as the season goes on how the Hornets handle the pressure when those teams begin fighting for higher playoff seedings. You know Utah is better then a 7th seed.
of course, the prospect of injury is always a threat (this goes to all teams). i guess im alone on this, but i will take the hornets over the rockets and the lakers (jazz, not so much). the hornets have shown that they can compete with top teams in wins over dallas and phoenix. however, they are very inconsistent, and lose to bad teams often as well. tyson chandler is a monster on the boards. david west is severely underrated. peja is like the spurs' finley. when hes on, he is really on. when hes not, hes useless. their biggest problem right now, is depth. people talk about how weak the celtics' bench is. the hornets are even thinner.
the Nuggets wont make the playoffs. Id be suprised if they finished higher than 3rd in their division
