I guess I'm not suprised but god damn if isn't getting out of hand. I didn't even bother to ask how much but apparently you have to specify ahead of time when you order and they charge you for each pack and send it with the driver. Nickel and Diming up the ass. I wonder if they charge me some kind of surcharge for the box next time.

If I do that not only am I using gas but I'm still paying for it. I doubt it would even save me anything.

Not that I care but I can't imagine how their marketing department could actually sit down and come to the conclusion that this was going to go over ok. They should have just raised the delivery charge or something and dumb America would have never known the difference.

When you go in for the buffet they're probably watching you to see how many times you use the parmesan/pepper shakers to add to your bill.

It's just like when the airlines started charging for snack packs and meals, even though the price of the ticket didn't go down. Now they charge fueldsurcharge, takeoff/landing fee, etc. Just like the pizza places charge you a delivery and/or fuel subcharge.

I haven't ordered from pizza hut in ages but they seem to pile the parmesan and red pepper packets into my pizza box whether I asked or not. I guess I should expect a change next time.

Speaking of....I usually order Domino's and they charge a "delivery fee". I always thought that was probably to cover the box and occasional napkin, but someone told me if there is a delivery fee it is the driver's tip. I don't believe that so I tip anyway, but does anyone know what that fee is for?

True, but i've noticed that alot of burger joints (especially Wendy's) won't give you ketchup unless you specifically ask for it. A few years ago they'd give you a year's supply of ketchup with every order, but the last few times I'll get home and say "what the ?" cuz there's zero ketchup packets. I bet that got Dave Thomas still makes the same amount of money even after the ketchup cutbacks. Oh wait, he's dead. owned.

I think Dane Cook was onto something when he mentioned using ketchup packets as currency. I am going to start stockpiling.

I think Papa John's does too now.

There's a new pizza joint in town. I think it's called Papa Murphey's (?)... there's one by HEB at 1604/Culebra. Has anyone tried it yet?

Most places charge for 'extra' condiments now. You get 1 sauce pack for your order of chicken nuggets, but they'll charge you for each extra one you ask for.

Personally, I don't agree with charging for a minimum amount of condiments, but do think that if you want 30 pepper packets, then yeah, pay extra. You might also notice at some fast food joints there is no longer a "condiment bar" whre you can get salt, pepper, sugar etc. because so many people would grab handfuls and take it with them. I know I'm guilty of grabbing extra salt and pepper packs to leave in the car.
