The fewest points ever by a Division I team was set by Arkansas State in a 75-6 loss to Kentucky in 1945. It was matched by Temple in an 11-6 loss to Tennessee in 1973.

Wow! I dont know which of those to games would have been worse to watch? The 75-6 beatdown, or the 11-6 down-to-the-wire game. Haha.

Tennessee had possession for less than 8 minutes the entire game, and less than 1 minute in the entire second half. The two Temple guards literally stood at halfcourt passing the ball back and forth trying to coax Tennessee out of its zone defense.

Prior to the shot clock era, this happened a lot in college basketball. 30-25 games were not uncommon. I think the reason he shot clock was not adopted until 1985 is the same reason college football doesn't have a playoff yet.
