    bag spurs/"patriots" fan?
    Bingo.

Mr. "I'm just a lurker" sure is having a lot of fun since he finally has the balls to talk now that the Colts and Cowboys are eliminated. I guess it's true Pats fan fashion to show up after it's all been said and done. What a bunch of bandwagoning pieces of .

I really wish I had an idea what it was like to be offended by ring smack, but if I ever wanted to, changing my pro sports team combo to Cavs/Chargers would be a really good starting place.
When do you hop onto the Pats?

I am close to invoking ring smack but I know how much that hurts so I will try to keep that one in my bag of tricks for at least another day.
Today is the day i guess. Chargers still have a chance to get a ring this year but the Colts don't. Sorry

What's funnier is that Colts fans are still posting un the AFC Championship thread
Actually it would be a charger fan in such thread. When's the last time they've been in this kind of a game?

Have fun watching the Chargers get butt ed this weekend in their final game.

Funny clip on "put up your dukes" talking about Rivers jawing.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAp7Y99Oz84
I don't get all the media coverage of Rivers talking . We're about to have what may be a historic record breaking win....or possibly the biggest upset of all time, and all ing ESPN can talk about is Rivers' mouth.

I'm not a Rivers fan but his talk just isn't a big deal to me. I think he makes it pretty obvious that he's just screwing around and not being serious.

Probably the stupidest thing said in this thread. Which is saying something considering Fabbs posted in here already.

I'm sure all the former NFL players from around the US, all the writers/reporters hired from various places across the country, etc, all decided to root for the Patriots simply because ESPN HQ is in Connecticut

Merrill Hoge moved to Bristol and immediately became a Pats fan.

    100% agree.

I find it hilarious when posters on this board call him a jerk for talking some harmless (he's not saying you) smack to his opponents or opposing fans. Some Colt fan was flipping him off so Rivers calls scoreboard on him. Big ing deal. He's getting cheered by Colt fans while he's injured leaving the field so he tells them thank you I'll be back. Big ing deal.

Anyone who whines about this kind of stuff most likely didn't play football growing up and doesn't realize talking is part of the game. Are QB's not allowed to run their mouths? Please, just give it a rest.

It's not that big of a deal, it's just very annoying that he's running his mouth when Volek and co were on the field finishing the upset.

I can understand how somebody with a high school mentality views the game in terms of high school football. I'm thinking if I were a Charger fan, I would want my QB to be focused on the game rather than on the opposing team's fans, since the NFL does not award points on the scoreboard for talking, even for those real one-line zingers. Most NFL players, given that they are adults rather than adolescents, focus on the game. If I were a Charger fan, I might be concerned that Rivers, when placed in a pressure situation against mature adults, might respond with the poise of a typical 17-year-old.

It worked out for San Diego that Rivers was on the bench when the stakes were highest last week. He didn't get the opportunity to choke.

As I just said in the previous post, he was getting talked to him as he was leaving the field injured. The only other time he talked to the crowd was after the game. You don't think Rivers 3 td perforance gave him any room to run a little smack with the fans who were flipping him off?

If Rivers played any other postion besides QB this would be a non story.

Yeah, I've never seen any other NFL player talk smack.

Rivers has been doing this since he touched a football, he's compe ive and let's his emotions show. Big ing deal. His teammates don't seem to mind, either do the other NFL players on the opposing teams. I remember reading a quote after he played his first Pro game from the opposing teams Dline that went something along the lines of...."we kept hitting him hard. Then we hit him harder, and harder. The kid kept getting up asking us if that is all we had. I gained a ton of respect for the kid after that game."

When has Rivers choked in a pressure situation?

Like I take anyone that belittles Mel Blount seriously. Just because you watch Friday Night Lights every week doesn't make you an expert on the greatest game in the world.

Tell us great one, what do you think the percentage is?

Replay of Patsies-Chargers last night. 14-10 Chargers 3rd qtr after a million Charger mistakes and gifts kept the Patsies in the game. Charger ball. Two Martyball runs net zero, 3rd and 9. Rivers delivers perfect 18 yard strike to Slacker Jackson who drops the ball. One of many chokes that had nothing to do with Rivers. Any who characterize the Charger loss as Rivers choking are either immature, unknowlegeable NFL watchers or both.

rivers usually does well with pressure....and now he has a coach that will let fly..

I expect plenty of LT, MT, and DS.......I sure hope the chargers give it everything they got....and the ref don't take away touchdowns like they did last week

Ahhhh tomorrow night is going to kick so much ass. Watching my patriots go to the superbowl at 18-0 and celebrating in downtown Boston. This championship is easily hands down the funnest one. Being this hated by winning is a thing of beautiful art. TSA will be one sad person tomorrow.
