    I'm no expert but from what I understand the rules are that for each dollar that they take on over the luxury tax threshold of $67.865 million, Cuban has to pay a dollar in luxury tax.
    Their payroll is $104.536million, so he might pay $36.671 million

    Mavs are paying almost twice as much for Kidd when they could have had Nash all along.

    Steve Nash is probably doing the "ROFLMAO to myself" thing right now.

    Actually.... Mike Finley's pay doesn't count towards the luxury tax (that's one of the reasons why he was cut to save that penalty). At this point the Mavs are roughly 18 million over the threshhold. Cuban has said, however, that he might still use our MLE. But I would think that would depend on who is available.

    mavs do have alot of spare contracts coming off the book...good to know the main peaces are locked down....Bass should be on a 2yr deal i believe
