Hmmm... 5 points? Spurs playing for their 5th championship? Signs are everywhere peope.
Drive for five baby!

Oh and we still won. Only the Spurs can score 5 points in a quarter and blow that same game wide open at the end. I love this team.
Spurs play for 3 quarters and still win. We gave Atlanta a 12 minute head-start to be good sports.
1 FG? Tony, Manu and Duncan must have been out...., oh wait
because individual players never go cold.......
this happened to be one of those games that happens once every few years where every player went ice cold for a long stretch. just a matter of statistics really. the fact that we scored 5 in the first and still won via blowout should have other teams ting themselves. our mettle>yours. deal with it.
Nuggets managed only 3 against SA in 2002.
But the best was the opening quarter of the Kings/Lakers game in '87. The Lakers rolled out to a 29-0 lead and finished the 1st Quarter up 40-4.
The Spurs swept the season series against the Hawks.
Did the Lakers sweep?
This thread is as cool as this fat that came into work last night while I was browsing ST and when she saw I was looking at a Spurs site, promptly started off with some "SPURS HAHA? GO MAVS BABY, I KNOW WE LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND BUT WE'RE GONNA WIN IT ALL!"
Just like that. Almost. I don't really remember. The whole time I was contemplating laying some ring smack on her but I decided ignoring was best. Stupid people like that always popping up at my work. "So are you a Colts fan?" is popular too when I wear my Manning jersey to work. One girl had the wit to say "So, let me guess, your favorite QB is Tom Brady?" once. Props for putting some thought into your smack, Miss.

Don't get so testy! I said nothing about the game, a win is a win.,,,,,But If that would have been any other team in the league I would probably say that their offense must really suck to only score 1 fg in a period. I mean, of course Super Manu, Tonie and Timmie were just having a bad shooting day but it's hard to imagine a team (not the spurs) with a big three, inside out game and penetrating guard could miss 16 out of 17 shots at home against a team that the Lakers scored 73 points against just the other day in the first half.
I wonder was that the lowest point total for a period in the NBA this season? Doesn't mean anything because it's the Spurs we're talking about but I'm just curious.

The Lakers of 87 was arguably the best team ever assembled in the NBA. They smoked the compe ion and I think they +20 point diff. for the entire season. I don't know why I can't remember that game but their were several games like that. The one that stands out for me is the 26-0 run on GS. I have that game on tape. Awesome display of offense.
