if you get a lower gauge wire it would help.
I have a 650 watt JBL stereo hooked up to my TV/DVD/IPOD all that. The sound is really good on it, and I have all Monster cables hooked from my plug-ins. My question is that I'm running the speaker wire they gave me from the factory (it's not a large gage, but it's not super thin). If I would buy some nice speakerwire would I notice much of a difference in the sound?

monster mark up.
yeah I know it's over priced
I think you will get a better sound by upgrading to better wire.
a thicker gauge is usually better but it depends on the length of wire your going to run to the speakers.
More than 100': 12ga
Between 40-100': 14ga
Less than 40': 14-16ga
that is good to know. I have alot of excess wire I never cut off, but if that makes a difference that is really good to know
Depends how anal you are about your sound.
To the average ear, there probabily isn't much of a difference.

Further, when music was played through the coat hanger wire, we were asked if what we heard sounded good to us. All agreed that what was heard sounded excellent, however, when A-B tests occured, it was impossible to determine which sounded best the majority of the time and which wire was in use.
