Can someone tell me what the story is with him, I am confused.

He had testicular cancer, they removed it and first said it was benign.

Then they said it was malignant but was isolated and did not spread anywhere.

Now I read the postgame recap of Spurs/Nuggets game Friday night "F Nene, who is recovering from testicular cancer and recently underwent chemotherapy, was on the bench in a suit for the first time since undergoing surgery on Jan. 14."

Maybe I am dumb on this subject but why did he have to undergo chemo if the cancer did not spread and they removed it? Did I miss an update somewhere?

He underwent treatment for precautionary measure.

I'd predict Nene to come back next year.
