Not trying to start a versus thread as I am completely neutral to the "radio sports war" currently going on as I never listen to AM radio but if I had to choose I'd go with ESPN 1250 without a doubt because I've never liked 760.

But I'm driving and Chris Duel is talking to some small person that is a escort. What does that have to do with sports? I won't even get into his "an NBA player is going to be seriously injured or killed by a fan in the next year or two" prediction.

Can anyone defend that? It felt like Duel was trying to go Howard Stern.

Considering the fact that I don't give a about what you or whoever has to say about Buddy Holly, you know, I might care that you just used l33t language for probably the first time. You see, I don't take this internet forum thing too seriously. I know you live for it, with multiple user names thinking that's ultra clever and unique to this planet. Guess what, Mouse or Zak, there's a special section of the internet cosmos set aside for people like you. It's over there with the MMORPG folk, the Star Wars kid and whatever goofy ass the internet has helped spawn.

Whether I quoted one of the user made by the short guy with long, unwashed hair or the fat guy with no hair, the point is the same.

Excellent post, Buddy Holly. Let's call a spade a spade here, holmes. It has NOTHING to do with sports. ESpeeN calls itself a sports station? A midget escort on the radio is pathetic. At least Head2Head Hotties is directly addressing the sexual fantasies of 16-34 year-old male listeners. Other than the re ed Chris Duel, who wants to see or hear from a midget on sports radio. I'm sure there is a lot of high-fiving going on tonight at Clear Channel. ESpeeN can't hold The Ticket's jock!

    Buddy Holly,

While I would contend that we talk sports 85% of the time on the show, we are also very stream-of-consciousness. I view this as a virtue, not a problem. I tend to talk about whatever is going on in my life, as do Jason and Dawn. I brought up the fact that our General Sales Manager, Tom Gebhart, suggested we interview a female, self-proclaimed "Midget Escort" who was advertising in the San Antonio Current. We asked Johnny "Fingers" Compian to call her and he did.

It wasn't anything we planned to happen, it just happened in the moment.

Right or wrong, that's how we do radio at ESPN 1250: right now, whatever's on our mind and by the seat of our pants. We don't pre-book anything days in advance, we react to what is now.

In five weeks of radio, we did ONE segment with a Midget Escort and you have an issue with it. Fair enough. I'll take the criticism.

However, you didn't post about Sean Elliott, who was on our show today from New Orleans.

You didn't post about Express-News Spurs Writer Jeff McDonald, who was on our show today from New Orleans.

You didn't post about New Orleans TV Sports Anchor Fletcher Mackel, who was on our show today from New Orleans.

You didn't post about Express-News Racing Writer & Blogger Mike Haag, who joined us in studio on today's show.

You didn't post about "Pros vs Joes" Corey Driggs, who joined us on the phone from Tucson, Arizona on today's show.

My point is this: You can slam us about having a Midget Escort on the show today, but when you look at the Big Picture, it would be more fair to mention that we've had some pretty phenomenal guests and topics not only today, but for the past five weeks.

I won't even get into his "an NBA player is going to be seriously injured or killed by a fan in the next year or two" prediction.
Mark my words on this one, Buddy Holly. And, to be accurate, I predicted it would be an NBA, NFL or MLB player. If you think I'm insane, ask Monica Seles if there might be a risk from LeBron James encouraging such behavior.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Chris

Maybe you should look up "pathetic" and "meaningless" before you make a fool of yourself on Algore's interweb, dip troll.

If you manage to find those words, you might be surprised to see the phrase "see any of Tike Mailer's posts" in the definition.

Your "typical pathetic meaningless" attacks on ESPN 1250 and Chris Duel seem an awful lot like you and your sleep-inducing cohorts at the Tickrah are more than a little worried that your microscopic ratings are in danger of dropping below the Polka show on KSYM, Holmes.

I appreciate you taking some time to personally respond. Though I think you misunderstood my post. Nowhere in it did I say your show doesn't cover sports, I simply wanted to know how midget escorts fits on a radio program. Like I said, that segment seemed very Stern-ish/Opie and Anthony-ish/Any generic shock jock-ish.

I enjoyed the sports aspect of the show that I listened to yesterday. I could have done without the midget escort. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude who was offended or something, if you were that type of show and that was one of your segments I'd have found it more enjoyable but the fact was I tuned in specifically to hear sports chatter (be it local or national) and I got midget escort talk.

    Chris
There's always been a risk for pro athletes in terms of a potential attack by a spectator however your argument that Lebron increased that risk is wrong. I agree that Lebron probably shouldn't have been so happy and honored to have some random fan run on to the court to try and meet him but that's not going to up the ante for a delusional nut case who wants to hurt or kill a player.

A real nut case looking to do that is going to do it no matter what. Luckily those people are few and far between. Though, if anything the chances are much greater for an injury and not a murder. A fan running onto a baseball field, football field, basketball court, etc is almost certainly not going to be packing a gun so through that out. What you're left with is a average sized person running up to a male athlete and having limited time of making to the athlete before security/someone intervenes.

If he has a weapon for sure he'd be taken out by taser or gun before meeting the athlete. And what if he actually comes face to face with the athlete, well, I doubt the athlete would just stand there, there'd be struggle/conformation with all likelihood the athlete winning/subduing the crazy .

    That's my argument.

Anyway, again, thanks for the response and I hope to hear more of your show as well as ESPN The Zone.

    P.S.

    Check your PM.

I was rather Impressed with the show For some odd reason yesterdays show started off with pure sports. No fart jokes no gay humor just sports. I had to check my radio dial to make sure I was on the right station.

The only thing I noticed was Jason not being a stand up comic miss a few cues from Chris and the Midget Segment could have been a tad bit funnier

I will say this though, the Ticket does takes more calls and reads more eMails.
