I've never called people who don't or didn't support the war a traitor. I DO believe, and there is ample evidence to prove, that their existed within the administration an intention to invade Iraq before 9/11 - and that that tragic event, to an extent, was used as a catalyst to do so (although, WMD was, in fact, the resounding chorus, and the one Colin Powell used at the U.N.)

Furthermore, many other notable persons of power openly spoke about a need to remove Saddam from power both before, and after, 9/11.

The cartoon above illustrates many on Left's memory of how things transpired, and indicates their bias as to who they believe, is conservative in this country (maybe you could throw in an inbred hay-seed to truly fill out the picture).

Ironically, however, assuming the author/illustrator of the cartoon is, in fact, a liberal, and reading the words of the personification of conservatism in his work, and what, necessarily those uttered words imply of conservatives....who is REALLY calling who a "traitor"?

Xrayzebra has taken AQ at their word that they would like it if we didn't vote for Replublicans.

Let's put this in a more personal perspective. Let's say you have a mortal enemy who is really out to kill you.

He walks up to you one day and says:

"You should NOT poke yourself in the eye with a pointy stick. I really really would like it if you DIDN'T poke yourself as hard as you can in the eye with a pointy stick."

So, using Ray's ironclad bit of reasoning here, our enemy is to be completely trusted when he says anything, and we go out and poke ourselves in the eye with a stick.

Later, after we are fitted with an eyepatch, and our enemy finally picks himself off the ground from laughing so hard, we might realize that Republican foreign policy blunders have been AQ's best recruiting tools.

Republican foreign policy plays into the hands of AQ, and AQ knows this.

Too bad people like Ray don't.

No one on the right has ever accused the left of being traitors.

As for who is a conservative, perhaps we should ask conservatives themselves.

I remember quite clearly on many occasions, and in forums other than this one , being called either a traitor, or accused of not loving my country, because I had the temerity to actually see my country in a wider perspective and acknowledge the things we do and have done in the world that might not be the epitome of ethical behavior.

If you really want to suggest that the majority of people who identify themselves as "conservative" don't harbor some degree of the belief that those on the left really don't like America, you will have quite the "row to hoe".

Not that I am aware of. Of course Saddam only made
pictures for his and his sons own enjoyment. But what
has that got to do with the Liberal Dimm-o-craps and
