Make Papa Stern proud kiddo!
The refs are helping Spurs out A LOT. Suns should feel really good right now.
Make Papa Stern proud kiddo!
3 Spurs starters didn't score in 1st half.
only down 8...we play good D and hits some shots in the 2nd half and we have this game.
That's the whole point right there. Spurs got a chance now they need to TAKE IT.
The Spurs are helping the refs by playing crappy defense and committing easy to call fouls. Play the game and adjust and stop whining.
Tony and Manu showed some signs of life there, we are only down 8 come on Spurs we need a push to start the 3rd.
We will not win this game playing like a bunch of high schoolers on offense. I'm sooooo ing pissed of right now at the spurs lack of focus, energy, and organization on offense.
This has all the makings of a horrible loss for us.
The real test is going to come in the second half. This has been the Spurs demise ALL SEASON LONG AGAINST GOOD TEAMS.
They usually lay an egg in the 3rd or 4th quarter where they go somtimes 5-8 minutes without scoring a field goal. They come out of halves flat and unaggressive on defense. Hopefully since they played that way in the first half, they'll reverse that trend this season.
That's been the problem the last 3 months.
Tony showed some signs there late in the half, i think he may come out much better.
News Flash!
The "Spurs Have A Game Today" memo was reported to have only reached the Tim Duncan household.
The Spurs organization promises investigation of internal memo delivery boy found wearing Phoenix Suns t-shirt.
really? I mean, it's tough to hold big leads, especially against teams of this caliber, but as a Spurs fan this looks brutal.
Even if the Spurs somehow take this game, I have no faith in this team winning games against PHX if Shaq gets meaningful minutes.
I also don't expect Nash to be this "quiet".
He's 1-9 and has shot 30% against the Suns in the 4 games this regular season.
Bell did a fantastic job on Finley to start the game I thought. He really took Finley out of rythmn and it's hard for him to get it back as it is...
there was one that was exceptionally appalling, he got raked across the arms on a fast brake, no call.![]()
Late in the first quarter, Jacque Vaughn went in for Tony Parker. At the end of the quarter, Parker was not on the bench and Spurs trainer Will Sevening went back inside.

-Duncan is the man. Everyone doubted him and he has owned so far.
-Ginobili, Parker and Bowen can't play much worse. They simply can't. Not even if they tried.
-THANK THE LORD FOR BRENT BARRY. He needs to play a lot more.
-Udoka sucks so far. Finley sucks. Oberto sucks. Thomas decent. Vaughn decent.
Hopefully this was as bad as it can get. Bring it in the second half. Get this damn win.
Believe.
Agreed but we can't count on Manu and Tony giving them nothing like that. We have to believe if they get off we can be right there.
Does Pop start Ginobili in the 2nd half?
I may be a little biased and don't want to be contrary but I didn't A LOT of help from the refs for the Spurs. Obviously the foul touble of Diaw and Shaq what you must be talking about.
Nash had a chance to make a huge 3 at the end of the half and he was too unselfish. I look for him to take that shot more often than not in the 2nd half.
3 fouls on Barbosa, Diaw, and Shaq makes it kind of tough out there because Mike D needs to tell them to be smart. Even though Ginobili embellished that foul on Barbosa, LB just needs to lay off if he has 2 fouls.
I have 3 years of recent history to back up my argument. The Spurs have looked pretty bad offensively in a couple of regular season games against us, but even when the Suns play great... when Amare scores 40, when Nash dishes like crazy, the Spurs still allow themselves to stay in it until the end.
The Suns aren't a great defensive team, either, so they have trouble putting away good teams.
I really thought they needed to win this game. I predicted a split in SA, but I thought they'd take this one.
The Suns did what I expected them to do. Play hard and aggressive.
The Spurs look like kicked puppies.
