The ans have given Pacman Jones permission to seek a trade, and feel that his career with in Tennessee is over.

"We’ve given them permission to look for a new home and whatever happens after that happens... Because of his choices and such off the field, he’s created a situation where he’s going to have to look elsewhere," Fisher said. Fisher seemed to indicate that the only way Pacman wouldn't be shipped off is if the commissioner's office cancels a trade.

Who do y'all think is the player the cowboys are including?

    Carpenter? any opinions?

Carpenter would be a bigger cap hit if traded than someone like Akin (I believe), so it's probably someone with less money per year in salary + bonus. Carpenter's salary is fairly low but he has a few years left to prorate and that 1st round pick bonus that would be prorated and hit the cap as well.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports a deal that would send suspended CB Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is imminent.

The Cowboys and ans reportedly spent Thursday working out the deal. Tennessee is asking for a third-round pick, while Dallas is only offering a sixth-rounder. However, it won't be too hard to bridge that gap by making the pick conditional. Dallas appears confident Jones will be reinstated for 2008.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports trade talks between the Cowboys and ans involving Pacman Jones have resumed "in a big way."

Schefter says a deal could be in place by Tuesday. The Cowboys have reportedly been sticking to their offer of a sixth-round pick, while the ans are holding out for a fourth-rounder. If a trade happens, it will have no bearing on whether Pacman is reinstated from suspension

"After more than a week of inactivity, the ans and Cowboys once again are talking about a trade involving suspended cornerback Pacman Jones. One of Jones' agents thinks that if a deal is going to get done, it will be this week. The two sides continue to talk about draft pick compensation for Jones while also trying to work through compromises related to signing bonus money already paid to Jones."

This deal will happen. The ans need to stop trying this bull trick of getting a higher pick. It isnt going to work and they wont get anything better than what is offered right in front of them right now. Plus the only team Pacman wants to go to is Dallas.

I think the big hold up is mostly centered around Pacman's contract and bonus situation. That has to be ironed out as well as pick compensation. No big hurry, the guy isn't even able to practice or workout, and may not be able to for a while if at all.

Hey Herschel, I hear you don't remember much about your playing days.

And Pacman wants to play for anyone who will give him a check. Dallas seems to be the only ones willing to do it.

He didn't apply today. They are waiting until he gets traded.

Pacman Jones will wait to apply for reinstatement to the NFL.

The original plan was to file papers Tuesday, but that has changed. Jones is apparently waiting for his trade to the Cowboys to happen. "I was going to file for reinstatement but I wanted the situation to work out," he told the Michael Irvin show.
