The Mavs were really lucky to retool on the fly when Nash left and got better. Because of their cap situation, they can't really do anything with the roster except through trades, and they have a bunch of bad contracts that other teams are not going to want. If we want to get back useful players, they'll be useful players attached to bad contracts.
This team clearly needs a dramatically different direction to go in, and getting Jason Kidd was not nearly enough. So I look at going to tonight's game like saying goodbye to a team that has provided me with some good memories, and good ing riddance to Avery and Josh.
