I get off work only to see us choking... great.
No big deal though. They're not winning 4 straight, and certainly not in SA.
excuse me........it'll be over on tuesday, for the suns.........

What a beatdown, horrible game, I was hoping you all would put the sweaty catus down, well you better do it on the next game.....
Remember 0-3 to win in 7 has never been done in the NBA, but it was done in baseball, the Red Sox beating the Yanks....
You have two opportunites 5 and 7...this team is not going to let you have another one on their court....and a game 7...man, anyones game....
They weren't, i thought they were going to play like this in game 3
What do you expect from a classless team like the Suns... it'll make the Game 5 win even sweeter for us.
Bell 24 pts
Diaw 20 pts
3rd quarter
Well I exaggerated, they have called stuff in our favor but the Suns have been allowed to be as physical as they wish with the Spurs. Whistles have been swallowed numerous times today.
He's in a suit.
Subs? Um, both those guys started.
we'll take game 5
If you take out the first quarter, as bad as the spurs are playing, they are only -7 for the game.
While the Suns still have been hot ever since.
There is nothing wrong with the Suns leaving in their starters. The Spurs did the same thing last game. You want to make sure the Spurs don't get back in it. I would want Pop to do the same thing.
If Pop keeps single-covering Diaw with Finley and Ime, Diaw's gonna get another outrageous contract.
D'Antoni still worried about his lead up 28 to start the fourthSays all that needs to be said about the Phoenix defense.
Oh, and all the people talking about the Red Sox need to ing pull their heads out... Look at how ing rare that is in the history of pro sports. A team as good as the Spurs is not going to lose 4 straight after going up 3-0... just ain't happening.
Why is Bowen in? Rest his ass for game 5.
LMAO my dad has only been watching NBA THIS year and told me he has been watching the whole thing and said 'Phoenix is getting away with stuff San Antonio isn't, why do they do that?'
Hahahahahahaha a 53 year old guy knowing about ball and noticed that?
Feel free to call me a whiner, but this post will be one of the most reasonable and logical looks at the influence referees can have on the game ever posted to the internet.
The refs blew this game. It is difficult for me to imagine that I'm evaluating the referees' performance objectively while I'm watching the game because I am a Spurs homer. The numbers however back me up. The Spurs had 17 first half personal fouls. 2 of those were intentional, but that is still 15 first half fouls. The Spurs are the best team in the league at not fouling. They averaged 18.7 fouls a game over the regular season.
Meanwhile, as of half time, the Suns are merely on pace for their average in terms of personal fouls for the game.
It's ridiculous to imagine the Spurs excess fouls are merely a reflection of how they played and not of how the game was called by the referees.
Combine those numbers with the anecdotal account of what we've watched on television and you get a picture of a called game which favored the Suns.
The gregarious way the referees have called this game has an effect on everything in the game. The Spurs have certainly played poorly tonight and the Suns well but obviously some of the Spurs' poor shooting and lackluster defense is secondary to the way this game has been called.
Let me say that this is not a ridiculous thread claiming some conspiracy against the Spurs. If such was the case the small time San Antonio market would've never won four NBA championships. Game 4 is merely one of those none-to-rare games where the calls seem to favor one team over the other. Stepping back the Spurs benefit from those types of games themselves all the time. But while that might explain what is happening here in Game 4, it doesn't excuse it.
There is a line of argument that tries to excuse the poor refereeing and says that teams should just 'play through it.' What a ridiculous thing to say. Referees cannot get every call right and every team will have nights where they benefit from the whistles as the Suns are doing tonight. Over the course of a season (or the playoffs) things usually even out. However, over the course of a single game the way the referee calls the game will have a HUGE influence. I think even reasonable Suns' fans can agree that the Spurs are one of the most mentally tough teams in the league. If the refereeing can influence how the Spurs perform, as it has in the first three quarters of Game 4, then it speaks to the limits of human ability to 'play through' such refereeing. The point is the referees, with their poor performance, have drastically altered the outcome of this game. In an ideal world that would never be the case.
There is a bigger issue here than Game 4. I think that in at least a couple of the previous games the refereeing has favored the Spurs (perhaps not as blatant as this game but still something for Suns fans to be mad about) and I would hope Spurs, Suns, and all the fans of the NBA could unite a little bit and call for more discipline within the refereeing corp and more transparency in how the NBA evaluates its referees.
Coach Pop and the team will say all the right things. As a team they should only focus on the things that they can control. But as fans we can certainly focus on the things beyond our team's control which influenced the game. The Spurs played poorly tonight and may have lost the game despite the referees, but I personally have no doubt that some of the blame for this loss can fall on this refereeing crew. The NBA absolutely needs stricter punishment for referees who call poor games and it absolutely needs a much more transparent referee evaluating process. All of the statistics the NBA keeps on its referees, all of the procedures it uses to evaluate referees should be public information available to the fans.
I'll be at the AT&T Center on Tuesday and unless the refs call that game as they have this one then I say Spurs in 5.
Suns don't have enough players to go to the bench to a great extent. Hill is out. Whatever. Not a matter of no class by (the soon to be fired) coach D'Antoni. No big deal.
what'd he do?
TP went to the locker room early? Did he get hurt? Anybody know?
Put barry back and let him go 3 point crazy
How ing dumb are you? Suns can't afford to blow this game, in case you forgot they are down 3-0
Spurs on the other hand, up 3-0, didn't give a since the tip off
