    Pop was sending a message. Crawford refusing to enforce the rules of the game, and directly stepping on the outcome of a playoff game. He ought to be smart enough to know he's on thin ice, but he never was very smart.

    That way timmy stops playing wimpy in fear of joey and starts dominating the game
