Turnovers. I've never seen so many lazy, telegraphed passes in one game.
Amen to that! Sometimes I wondered if Manu MEANT to pass it to the guys in yellow.

My heart isn't going to be able to take another game like this. Fatigue is gonna be a factor in this series and I figured right around the 4th, the Spurs legs would become their enemies. But, the MVP showed the world why he is the MVP. Yeah, man! Good game.

You don't piss away opportunities like this, not against PJ and Kobe.

This is a real body blow. If Spurs don't win game 2, it's over I'm afraid. Don't bother making comparisons to the Hornets, this is the f'n Lakers we're talking about here.

Stern won't be needing Viagra tonite I reckon.

The Spurs LOST a game they have WON, plus the refs helped the Lakers in the end...However, make no mistake, the SPURS HAD no business allowing those guys back in the game...We all knew the REFS will give it to them in the end...However, the series hasn't started yet - the Spurs PLAYED much better in Game 1 today, if you compare what they have done against the Hornets...What they need to do is sustain a good play for 4 quarters, NOT for 3...the 4th quarter was the same against the Hornets...still, even though we played like in the 4th we had a chance SHOULD THE REFS had given the right call - and OFFENSIVE FOUL on Kobe in a 85-85 game - then it would've been different - the Spurs would've had the ball with 30 sec to go...also the last possession foul wasn't on Sasha, but on Odom, who is NOT good from the FT line...The Spurs gave one away, a game they should have won easily taking into account they were up by 20 pts at some point...
However, nothing we could do now - we have to prepare for Game 2...NO NEED TO WORRY - THERE IS NOW WAY THE LAKERS WOULD WIN A GAME IN SA...so what we need is to re-group and repeat what we did today, but JUST PLAY 4th quarters...that's ALL...

    GO SPURS!!!

If I tuned in at the very end of the game, I wouldn't feel so bad about this loss...it just looked like a close game that the Lakers barely won...but that's not what happened...the Spurs had this game in the ing bag, and they pissed it away. 65-45 and in control, and then...nothing but massive gobbling by the Spurs...it was like there were two different Spurs teams tonight...the awesome one who ran up a 20-point lead on the Lakers, and then their replacements, who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.

The Spurs aren't going to sleep on their plane between now and next game, so don't worry about it.

We knew it would be a great series.

I keep going back to that play with the Spurs up 18 and Manu throwing that horrible pass that got intercepted which led to a Laker score and Spur timeout. That's what kicked off the Laker run.

+1 The Spurs pissed away a golden opportunity tonight...they won't get another...they're gonna have to fight for the win in Game 2...NFW the Lakers let the Spurs get up by 20 again ever in this series...book it.

This game was similar to what San Antonio did to Phoenix in game 1 of the first round. Phoenix never recovered.

Another classic loss to the Lakers.

Nobody but Tim does anything, role players choke in crunch time, Tony dissapears in the 2nd half, we choke away the game in the 4th after playing solid ball for 3 quarters.

Complete bull . I have no idea how even after 6 ing years things don't change, only the players do.

Spurs ran out of gas. Manu stunk.

Every Spur fan would of taken a tie game w/ 3 minutes to go considering what the Spurs had gone through over the past 48 hrs. I'll take it.

The Laker D was not why they lost the lead, it was missing open looks. Friday will be better.

    Manu sucked.

    But he'll be back.
it was not only Manu who sucked, it was the entire team not named Duncan.

    tonight it was Kobe >>>>Parker+Manu+Fin+Ime

20-pt adv turned to ice in the 2nd half. I feel sorry for Duncan who came out to play but lost.

Manu is a player you live and die by and tonight was death. Tony didn't have a good second half either.

You have to look at the constants: Phil and Kobe.

They know what buttons to push and when. They own us to a certain degree, there is no denying.

I'm always surprised when we manage to beat them to be honest.

Spurs had a huge opportunity to reverse trends, redemption, whatever you want to call it, but it was almost as if it was scripted.

Manu will not have a great game all series if Sasha is guarding him. He is forcing Ginobli to go RIGHT on every play and it is clearly screwing with his game. I said before this series all Ginobli was doing was hitting 3's, his drives were all useless. I was 100% correct. Ginobli is hurt and it is affecting his ability to get to the rim and score.

Your such a ing tool wad.

If Phil leaves Vujacic on Ginobili, in game 2, Ginobili is gonna go for 40.

Don't bank on Manu being bad the whole series, that won't happen. What sucks for us is Timmy was a beast tonight and it didn't count for anything but Manu will play better, i have no doubt of that.

Tim was very very good tonight. But he didn't have alot of help after about the 5:30 mark in the 3d quarter.

Wow. Outscored 44-20 over the final 17:30. Embarassing.

Unlike the Hornets, the Lakers will put the pressure on SAS to score all game long. The Lakers don't have droughts for very long offensively.
