Dude, do you have a picture of that block? I think it would really help your argument.
i was actually surprised but TSN the espn canadian tv called out the league saying officiating sucked and that this call was a travesti for the league. It is probably the first time i hear canadian media calling out something like this not related to hockey
Dude, do you have a picture of that block? I think it would really help your argument.
Pop didn't think it was not a foul. Barry didn't think it was a foul. The bitter fans are just looking for excuses.
Because they are whining that their team will now lose the series in five games to a team WITHOUT Bynum!!!![]()
there's not freakin astericks because it's not the Lakers Fault. Also, the Spurs had a freakin ton of other chances to win this game.
Nevertheless, the game deserved a shot at OT to decide once and for all. Instead stupid Joey Crawford decides to play God.
I really didn't want to come out of lurkerdom but...are we seriously blaming this loss on that call? Seriously?
Take off your goggles fellow Spurs fans and see this loss for what it is. We sucked at rebounding tonight. Manu disappeared again. The shots weren't falling for us. We simply got outplayed...it NEVER should have come down to that call at the end. The fact is that we were at home and we should've taken care of business. We didn't. So let's move on, man up and get ready for game 5. And let's hope Manu shows up to Staples Center...
Because it's not true.
Spurs don't cry about the whistles to the media
Falling for a pump fake is good defense?
FALLING FOR A PUMP FAKE IS GOOD DEFENSE?
Of course TNT is going to say it's good, they get contracted by the NBA to show their games!
It was going to be either a foul or a goaltend.
You actually think the Spurs are like Phil Jackson and his whiny, y teams? Pop is never, ever, ever going to call out publicly on something like that.
You can bet your ass privately though, he's going to send this tape and a letter to the league.
I dont think they are. the rim I thnk it happened but need to watch it again - lamar blocked it but it was goaltending and +1.
people are more upset with other things like the changes in schedule that are very weird and have not benefited the spurs pretty much in the last 3 seasons.
now the last foul of course fuels that.
Yeah, that was a nice little jab there, Philip.
I'm on the side of it being at least a 2 shot foul. I mean sometimes you have to scrap your way to a win. But i'm also not going to use it to excuse Manu's dog game or the Spurs getting outplayed by the Lakers in the clutch.
because you're a dumbass and don't know what you're talking about. Lamar hit the ball after it hit the backboard.
You guys don't have Bynum? Is being held in reserve until he's really needed? I thought he was injured?
I love the pre-emptive w/o Bynum excuse just in case you lose the series.
Lakers dominated the boards and out hustled the spurs all night long. The ONLY thing that kept this game close was the refs sending the Spurs to the foul line all night long!
Like I've been saying...........Lakers in 5!
Rules state that the defender has his right to verticle space. FIsher jumped, then Barry dribbled into him and didn't attempt a shot. Barry then after the contact made a basketball move and shot the 3.
Correct call.
Though I'd too if I was about to be eliminated.
The truth is that we just got outplayed tonight. If we would have played our game we would not have been in that situation. As noted above, the Lakers should have had a fresh clock as Fisher's shot grazed the rim. Was that a foul by Fisher? Of course. Should it have been called? No. Pop and Barry both said the same thing in the press conference. If we start whining about calls that makes us look like Lakers fans. We just need to go to LA to steal a game back.
lebron is laughing somewhere...
The Lakers figured out the Spurs. Take away Manu, and the Spurs start limping. What was suprising is how well Sasha played Manu defensively.
FISHER's shot DID hit the rim. Get a clue...
Whatever. I thought the fans here blaming the Game 1 loss on the refs was garbage and said so numerous times, because those were borderline calls in the Lakers building after we had completely collapsed. But this was an unequivocal foul at home after we had done we had to do to get back in the game, no matter how horrid we had played prior.
The fact is the Spurs got a TON of calls awarded to them in this game, especially in the 1st quarter. It was so bad Phil Jackson was calling them out in his in-game interview.
We can all agree that at the very least Fisher's shot HIT the rim, that would have most likely iced the game right there. Stop with the conspiracy bull , the Lakers outplayed the Spurs in this game and deserved the W.
Tim Duncan:
"You're not going to get that call. They're not going to make that call.
"I was hoping he'd go up through his arm when he did get him up in the air a little bit, but I think he took a dribble to the side trying to get a good look at it.
"He made the right play. He knows they aren't going to make that call. He's trying to get a good look at the basket - trying to get a clean shot off."
Hmmm. I wonder if Duncan is in on that NBA conspiracy to have the Lakers/Celtics in the Finals.
Or maybe you guys don't even respect your own team leader's opinion.
