Mac and cheap don't go in the same sentence.

You, my friend, have finally seen the light.
This man speaks the truth.
Your best bet for a deal is going to be either eBay or Craigslist. Just look out for that TNT Scam going around where people will offer you like a ridiculous deal (Macbook for 550 seems to be the going number), then try to trick you out of your money by getting you to use a fake Courier/Delivery Service. Google TNT Scam for more details.
I came across one of the scammers on Austin CL when I was shopping for my iMac. Just make sure if you buy off Craigslist, you accept the unit in person and get a look at it before you buy.

Go for the Apple Store refurbs. If you're into Macs and want to get a Mac for less than what they are new, thats the best place to get it from. They come with the one year warranty the new Macs come with and they're eligible for the Apple Care Protection Plan extension.
Be careful on Craigslist and FLEAbay when you're shopping around there for one, and usually if you find something too good to be true of course it is.
what did you do
i just got a of a deal on one on craigslist $900 for a 2.4ghz duo core that was 2 months old it sells for $1299 new, so ive bought two macs in the past two weeks the other one was a 20" imac with 2.4ghz duo core 2 gigs also paid $900 for that. I will never go back to pc.
why not you could have had 6-8 PC's at those prices...
why would you have 6 PC's?
And you are not coming back from Mac's. They are the real .
