Tommorow will be the big day...ughh I'm nervous. The Dutch are always formidable opponents and very dangerous.
Believe me Johnny, we are way more nervous.
Italy is relieved Seedorf wasn't even selected.

I see Holland not even making it past the 1st round (which is no shame as it is the poule of death).

Nevertheless, tonight's game will be the best game of the entire tournament.
    Book it.

Everybody if you are able to watch this game, do so!
This is soccer how it's supposed to be!

Spain has very good players but that doesn't matter as long as they suck as a team. They are proven losers and they won't win anything this year.

I wasn't pleased with the way Germany played but it is really good that they won the game. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

I am rooting hard for Holland tonight. I hope they beat Italy...

France are in a bad situation now, unless Italy and Holland tie. Good for Romania for holding their ground.

Romania came up big. Didn't think they would get any points against France. France is in big time danger now.

I guess Panucci being on the ground next to the goal ruled out any possibility of offsides; so the goal was legit. The second goal... wow. Donadoni should have gone with Del Piero and toni up top

Donadoni should be fired. Thank god if they flame out in this tournament he's gone.

That 3rd goal says it all. Grosso misses right in front of goal, then Pirlo almost makes a FK, then a counterattack and goal by Von Bronckhorst.

Very true. Holland had lost its iden y a bit lately.

This is the best game they have played since Euro2000. And back then, it was a group of guys in their prime, who had almost all played at Ajax in the 95Champions League season. They knew each other incredibly well, and could play with their eyes closed. It was too bad that that group missed out on both Euro2000 and France 98.

This time though they look very good. It is a relief that Robben and Seedorf are not playing. Robben just holds to the ball too much, falls down easily. A great talent but I never really liked him that much. Seedorf is used to play in a ball control, slow tempo game with Milan.

Typical dutch football is based on a much more fast paced game, using the wings well and they did that incredibly well tonight.

It's early but it looks like a Germany - Holland final to me, with a huge rivalry being renewed at the top stage of the sport.

see the my post before this.

What a disgrace and embarrassment, but then again I didn't have a good feeling about this tournament even before Cannavaro went down. Either way Italy got slapped today and hopefully they'll wake up. Donadoni is a jackass.

Spain why do they do this all the time? I love them, and they always roar out of the gate and people up, but once the knockouts begin....well, hopefully they'll do it this year.

I'm rooting for Italy of course, but they're probably dead in the water now with the goal differential and everyone else having points in the group of death, Holland, Germany and Spain.

These were very important 3 points for Sweden as they face Spain on Saturday. Greece can still save themselves with a 2-0 or so win over Russia along with a Spain win over Sweden.

Italy's luck is France sucked in their 1st game.
Now Holland faces a desperate French squad on Friday and Italy just has to demolish Romania to start dreaming again.
