To me, it is not really important to pull for one team. I don't like either. I think the Lakers will be a contender for years to come with a healthy Bynum and the MLE to improve some needs.

Boston on the other hand has 2 years the MOST to be in contention (with the big 3).

My thoughts on Boston winning it: I don't see how 1 ring would help people argue that KG is better than Timmy. The ones who argue that KG is better right now will keep to do so regardless of what happens this year. Everybody who followed the NBA over the years and has some basketball knowledge will agree that Tim is better. It is not even close. That said the ONLY reasonable way to compare players is their success (as franchise players). The consistency of success since TD joined the league is remarkable. When Tim played they got out of the first round EVERY YEAR and won 4 championships with the team that drafted him. He won championships with 11 different players (1999/2005) on his team. He has 3 Finals MVPs (along with MJ, Shaq and Magic the only players who won 3 or more). Who knows if KG will win one finals MVP at all.

I don't really root for one team. But with the Lakers being strong for years to come it might be easier to accept if Boston wins.

That said, I really hope the Spurs will retool and win another...

All championship teams have to take their lumps in the playoffs before they win it all. The 3-peat Lakers lost to Utah and then got swept by the Spurs in 99 before finally winning it all in 2000.

This current Laker team surpassed all of my expectations and had a wildly successful season when put into proper perspective. The experience they are gaining now will prove invaluable in the years to come as they try and contend for les. The addition of Bynum, a defensive minded veteran to help Kobe lock down the perimeter, and another offseason of training for the entire team will push them over the top next season IMHO.

They only exceeded expectations thanks to the Memphis donation.

I hopeout of left field the FBI inadvertently stumbles on that collusion trade and the league has to rescind that frickin trade as a consequence.

I agree. The Lakers will be a favorite going into next year. But remember Pheonix when they did not have Amare? They also thought that would go all the way when he is back and they did not. All I want to say is that no one knows what happens next year. But one injury, one trade, one aquisition can change a lot. All we can do is wait.

Uh, how about the 2008 Celtics? Nice try on trying to justify the choke.

Cavs >> Atlanta Hawks > Lakers

Lebron >> Joe Johnson > Kobe

    East Conference >>>>>>>>>> West

Unless they want to praise Brian Scalabrine in dress clothes, Celtic Fan doesn't exactly have anyone to um ... overrate.
Good point. No wonder Thibodeau is the most hyped assistant coach in sport history.

Maybe it was better that Spurs lost in the WCF, we've only had one or two harmless Boston fans this season.

Exactly. Spur fans have no idea what they missed. A Finals against the Celtics and the Celtic trolls would have turned you into an ABC'er For Life.

Hmm, actually it might be interesting to wander over to Lakersground for the first time in years . . .

    Seriously....

I like to take comfort in Champeon Air, and Crawford in Game 4....

the Ref Scandal makes me feel vindicated for pulling the ref card/Barry's shot. It's petty but... the high road. I call shenanigans!

At least the Spurs players don't cry and throw tantrums when they lose.

It's really too bad that the league decided to fix these Finals against LA, though I suppose the upside is that it will give you years of garbage to post on any number of internet forums.

San Antonio -- still the only West team to uphold the honor of the conference in an era of an absolutely dominant Western Conference. (there are better ways to say it -- at least the Spurs manage to actually win the Finals . . . . ).

    Basically.

Though it's nice to see Pierce win a ring if the Spurs weren't in the Finals...

Kobe going down in flames. KG getting exposed. Kobe, KG and Ray-Ray not winning the MVP. Sucks but this was about the best way this Finals could have played out.
