Apparently he is seeking the full MLE of 5.8 million this season. As much as you guys HATE Sasha he really seems like he would fit right in with the Spurs. I don't how if they want to bring Finley back, and Sasha can probably take over his starting spot right away with Ginobili coming off the bench. This season he has shown he's a good 3pt shooter (#8) and that he can play some pesky defense. I can't imagine an more annoying combo on the perimeter than Sasha and Bowen.

Sasha is also very young, 23. I'm sure the Spurs can mold him into a Bowen like gnat on defense and his shooting is good enough to give the Spurs proper spacing on the floor. The bottom line is the Spurs are in a position to offer a player like Sasha the full MLE, whereas the Lakers would be paying double that since they would be in the luxury tax. There is no way in Buss is writing Sasha 11.6 million dollar checks this season.

I do see him as a bowen/peja type of player. Lord knows we need youth, and outside shooting. Id give it a shot.

WTF is a bowen/peja type player? Would they sell out on defense half the time and ignore it the rest of the time?

    No crybabies, please.

The more I think about it, I can't imagine a better place for him than SAS considering what he wants.

He wants the chance to start. He wants to play on a team competing for a championship. He wants MLE money. The Spurs can give him all 3 of those things. If he does leave the Lakers I can see him being an extremely effective player on the Spurs.

What, Bowen on offsense and Peja on D?

Of course he wants MLE. Nobody will give it to him though. He's an RFA and will be back in LA for probably $3-$4 million per.

I hope he's back in LA, but knowing the NBA some team will be dumb enough to offer him MLE money.

Someone will give him the MLE, but I doubt it's the Spurs. I think they'll split that money on a couple of players; for instance, Roger Mason and Matt Barnes. You could certainly make an argument for Vujacic at that price, as much as Spurs' fans hate him right now - 45% from the field, 40% from three, pesky defender, doesn't turn the ball over. He just needs to mature, as a person and player.

bowen/peja type player = good 3 point shooting and pesky D (not the best, but finley doesnt play much better D either) youth & can be molded.

not saying he's a savior, but an option worth looking at if nothing else better comes along.

His salary is just where it should be - 1.8mil. He doesn't deserve the MLE from the Spurs or any team for that matter. He's not consistent enough and he's not an all-around player - he's a streak shooter. Pass.

I'm not sold on him either. His stats look great, but anyone who watches Laker games knows he gets ridiculously wide-open looks. He gets the kind of shots Bowen used to get around '03 or so when no one respected his range. I doubt teams are going to give him that kind of space again, seeing that he made them pay for it last year.

One could argue that with Duncan's inside presence and ability to pass out of the double team, he would actually get MORE wide open looks than he did this past year.

I'd waste the full MLE with Posey though...
