Damn, this is going to be awesome

This summer league for the Spurs is so damn important. Hopefully the Big Four look decent at least.

Sucks ass that it will only be on the computer. But I would not get too high or low, although I hope they give us something to talk about! All I am watching is Ian. Out of all the "rooks", he is the one that if he exceeds expectations could propel the Spurs.

Batum got taken off the court and they are looking at him in the locker room...

This is the first time I've expressed interest in the happenings of the Spurs summer league.

Summer league tells you pretty quickly if a guy just isn't cut out to be at the NBA level. Marcus Williams and Chris Carrawell were horrible in summer league and their lack of athleticism became obvious. On the other hand, playing good in summer league doesn't mean the player will be awesome.

Basically, I'm hoping to see decent play out of all four of the players and signs that athletically and size-wise they can survive. I don't think it's a matter of getting "too high or low". Summer league is more pass/fail. If someone looks decent enough, they remain an NBA prospect. If they look horrible and out of place, 99% of the time that means they will never amount to anything.

The wizards/portland one I am watching has commentery, but the Suns/Rockets one does not... makes it kind of tough to watch with no commentary. I sure hope the Spurs one has commentary. Although I will know which ones are our 3 draft picks and Ian.

any streaming link to share guys?
just go to the nba.com site and go to the summer league scores and click on the link that says "watch" next to the one you want to see... you have to be signed in with the all access pass; just sign up for it... it is free.

The Spurs one won't have commentary. Only the ones that are also on NBATV have commentary.

I don't think I've been this excited about SL since Tony played in it.

BTW, why do commentators refer to an "and one" on a shot that a guy misses? That would be an "and two".

Tony Parker was elated to be selected by San Antonio. Wasting no time, he signed and flew to Colorado to play for the Spurs in the Rocky Mountain Revue, a summer league for NBA hopefuls. In four games, he averaged 18 points, nine assists, four rebounds and two steals.
I remember Parker's first game when he just exploded. IIRC, he had something like 24 points and 12 assists. After that game, the Sonics GM offered Gary Payton straight up for Parker

Obviously Hill isn't going to be as good as Parker was in summer league but let's just hope he doesn't look overwhelmed by the bigger, stronger and faster opponents.

I'd really enjoy NBA games without commentary. I don't need Hubie saying "That was a goaltend" and then saying it again when the replay clearly shows it wasn't.

Correct. Even when good players play terrible, they still look like they belong.

LOL! I just want commentary since I won't know like 60% of the guys out there... Sure I will recognize our main guys, but probably not much else besides guys from the draft

Yea, but if there's still no commentary, I'm sure someone here will be able to identify them.
