Mavs>Spurs... you can't possibly believe Bush supporters will show actual signs of rationality. It's just not something they can do.

I don't see how anyone can like Bush. The left should hate him for being a puppet of the oilcos, and the right should hate him for his massive spending and ruining our dollar with all the borrowing from China. Bush is a god figure to Neocons though.

give him credit for preventing another major terrorist attack in the US when most people thought it was inevitable.

Yes, give him credit for implementing after 9/11 all the anti-terror policies that were recommended to him months before 9/11.

    Brilliant.

People may have speculated or assumed another attack was coming, but nobody knew what was going to happen after 9-11.

It's not like the Bush resentment hasn't been building for some time....used to be a guy would get bashed for posting many of the things posted about Dubya in this thread, now it's just status quo...
    True.

this forum was constructed to help people release their frustrations about the sad shape of the U.S. political system instead of laying it on politically apathetic people like their friends, their families, or their co-workers....
Also very true. At least, thats why I post here. I came to ST when the Pistons played the Spurs. But the political forum is the only reason Im still here.

...because the Pistons as a team are so incredibly unlikeable these days....

but it's time for Dubya haters to do something about it.....work to get him and Cheney impeached....donate to the Obama camp and stop Dubya from having a third term with McCain...the point is ...do something constructive with all that negative energy instead of just sitting back and taking it
Dont do any of those things. Worthless, back-biting, poltically charged rhetoric all in the name of meaningless finger pointing with no real intention of true results.

...there's a lot of people who still care about this country...
Yeah, right. People pay no mind beyond lip service. Too busy...you know, working and . Raising a family. Being a human.

Most just want to be left alone, the problem comes from the way we busy ourselves with the mundane contructs that define civilization and knowing no better way to do things. The need for currency, our basis of existence, our reason for getting up at 5am, our reason for missing our family reunion, our greatest accomplishments and our single greatest sins....all for the flimsy value of printed paper backed by nothing more than ore churned from the earth.

The moment humanity put value on dirt, we were doomed.

I can tell some are not students of history... all US presidents have had their bad policies and bad decisions... even kennedy had his bay of pigs... and escalated the Vietnam police action...........
I completely understand what you mean and very much agree.

But Bay of Pigs is a terrible example. Thats Eisenhower's baby all the way.

In you have any intelligent questions, I may take more than a moment to answer.

No on each of the three questions, that only an idiot think are true, or president Bush's fault.

I support his humanity, tact, honor, integrity, and other things you obviously just don't understand. I disagree with many of his decisions, but the man has my respect.

How can anyone respect those who ran against president Bush? They were chronic liars.

number one and two are fact, look up the numbers, due mainly to deficit spending and this "war" in Iraq which is a whole different story in itself. Bush severely underestimated the cost of war when we went over there and failed to realize one HUGE POINT. Muslims HATE Jews and Christians, and they especially hate the US for backing Israel. Sure, we went over there and dismantled what little military and army they had, no problem. But idiots fail to realize that this is a 2 thousand year old strife, they will hate us for all eternity, it's not changing. There will continue to be car bombings, violence, and unrest untill the day we leave Iraq. It's a war that can't be won as long as humans have the gift of free will and their own thoughts.

I didn't mean they weren't true, I meant they were not president Bush's fault. Social programs that are on the mandatory part of the budget are the reasons we have such out of control numbers. Our real cost of living has been going up faster than wages for decades. Only a fool blames it on president Bush. War is a necessary evil, and Iraq is not a lost cause. Military spending is addressed in the cons ution. Social welfare is not. It is counterproductive to part of the preamble "promote the general welfare." Welfare in this case means that we fare well, not a welfare program.

The premises behind the other posting I responded to are simply false.

Apparently, you think Muslims are a lost cause. I guess that means you would advocate we do as Hitler tried to do to the Jews as well. With your at ude and their population growth dwarfing that of other faiths, they will rule the world someday unless we fight terrorism. I say it's not them as a religion, but men of power who use the religion as a tool for their own means. Once the right people are solidly in power, it is possible to keep a nation like Iraq stable.

President Bush has many faults and I really dislike many of his decisions, ideas, and policies. But he does deserve to be respected. When you lib s speak of real errors on his part rather than these lies from demonrats you repeat, I will join in on the criticism.

How did he prevent another attack? Going to Iraq has nothing to do with no more attacks. In matter in fact Iraq pisses them off more to plan other future attacks but its not easy to attack the US on its soil.

9-11 was an isolated event carried out by 20 or so fanatics and a few master minds behind the scenes. They hit the towers first when Clinton was president and were determined to take them down and manged to get something to work while Bush was president. Who the president was or is had nothing to do with it.

Its not like if there was another president other than Bush there would be many more attacks on the US. Sooner or later something else will happen but its not easy to plan major attacks on US soil, so it may take many years to pull something else off.

No. You insulted me, because I respect him. He no messiah, but he's more righteous than most.

Granted, President Bush has quite a few unfortunate qualities about him. He still has traits to be admired and respected. Nobody's perfect.

You show your ignorance by repeating the lies from the left rather than criticizing him on issues he deserves to be hit on.

This has nothing to do with Obama, but good attempt at trying to change the subject.
