Obama and Biden called McCain to congratulate him on his decision. I just don't buy into nominating a woman just because she IS a woman. But I understand why he did it.
Best qualified in what way?

There doesn't need to be any hurt (other than that which may be derived from some of the moronic comments similar from those rendered by some in this thread) The reality of a beautiful baby girl of baby boy tends to take the hurt away.
And certainly no need for condemnation, she probably already overloaded herself with that. If I were her dad she'd get nothing less than unconditional support.
So Palin has completed the trifecta...
MILF
VPILF
GILF
I'm starting to believe that Johngateswhiteley logged in as Dio to show the stupidity of Victoria longhorn fans.
"I just want to know why a party that calls itself liberal isn't celebrating the nomination of a female VP by Republicans"
Gender and race "should" be non-factors.
Palin's unsuitability is not because she's a woman.
Hillary's defeat was not because she was a woman.
As with dubya's risible nominaton of Harriet Meiers to SC because of her lengthy loyalty to dubya, Palin was chosen to pander to certain narrow-minded, reactionary, hard-right cons uencies where her gender was not an issue, so why should her gender be an issue for non-Repugs.
In neither case, for anybody with a worthwhile opinion, was gender an issue. Many Repugs have put forward more experienced, more well-known Repug women, so it seems the gender issue isn't dominant for Repugs, either.
Whott's trying to slime the non-Repugs as promoting women no matter how unqualified and incompetent, while in fact it's the Repugs selecting an inexperienced, unqualified Palin, easily interpreted as a "woman no matter whott" as long as she passed the right-wing and "Christian" supremacists' litmus tests.
@ boutons attempting to pass himself off as a non- .
You're a bouton...an ignorant .
That's it???
U r not serious?!?!
That is the best you've got?????
C'mon girl, u gotta show us more of that awesomeness.

Tell ya what, I'll leave you alone so u can think () & then when I come back from an adults party we'll read what you've posted & all laugh at u.
Ooops, I mean, I mean, laugh at al the awesome things you've thought of all by yourself!![]()
Gold!!!!!
I admit Dio..you are the best, i can't win a re sprint against you.
Celebrate and go to your adults party and get your dumb on.
I think she's qualified to be VP...I actually like her better than McCain. Matter of fact...she has probably swung me to voting for McCain.
I'm actually not afraid of this woman becoming President at all...and that's just something you're going to have to learn to accept....that I'm not a sexist...and you are.
Plus she's hot.
boutons nailed what?
He's been calling Republicans racists, sexists and bigots for years now...and now he's being critical because we aren't?
And BTW, I'm not a Republican...
Here's what boutons nailed...
boutons was ignorant then...
boutons is ignorant now.
boutons is ignorant.
I completely agree. If you've read my prior posts, I've said that this issue should not be politicized. The simple truth is that Bristol's pregnancy says nothing about the way she was raised by her parents. She's 17 and bears responsibility for her actions. To act as if 17 year-olds are not having sex is to turn a blind eye to the realities of contemporary society. She got pregnant and her family is dealing with it. End of story.
The issues I was posting on were:
1. Why the McCain campaign felt it necessary to highlight the fact that she made the choice to keep the baby; and
2. Whether the right-wing media (e.g. Rush, Hannity, and Fox News) would give the Obama's the same privacy on this matter that others have been calling for?
Whott is so embarrassed and pissed at off at me for -slapping his wimpy ass, yet again, that he can't make a credible response, so calls me an ignorant .
I like her personality better than McCain's too. As I've stated, I think she has a compelling story; one that will play well with women. I don't think she's nearly as qualified as McCain, Biden, or even Obama, but we could debate that for days (and I think we have) and get nowhere.
I understand the pick. It's high risk/high reward for McCain. We'll see how it plays out.
1. Because I'm sure the media is salivating at the hope she would have an abortion.
BTW, she is marrying the father, so the attack dogs can chill out and hope for some other thing to attack the woman on.
Hypocrits.
whottt nailed it.
Prediction: Jindal will take her place.![]()
That's my point though. She doesn't have the option of having an abortion. Her mother opposes abortion even in cases of rape or incest, so having one because you're not ready for a child is out of the question. The simple truth is that she has to keep the child. That's not necessarily a bad thing for her because that's what her family believes is the right thing to do. And I am sure that unlike other young women, she has the family structure in place to help her through this life-changing event. My issue is why give her credit for such a "choice," in light of the fact that Gov. Palin would deny others the opportunity to make the same choice.
another prediction: get the out of dodge neo-cons you are done![]()
