The SEC would like to say thanks. One of our big three are surely going to make it.
That's interesting as what you just mentioned is a reflection more on the coach(es) than the players. Mental conditioning is every bit important as physical conditioning. I've always thought Pete was a decent coach, but he's been fortunate in having some of the best players under him.
I wonder if the Stanfords and Oregon States are exposing his (lack of) coaching ability a little bit more.

You can twist it anyway your little mind would like..........but, USC lost....so who you think is better does not matter. Also if my school finally does get a football team, if they lose, I wont act like you and think they still should have won.Go drink some more.
Yep..........they lost. Just like the Lakers and New England. Get over it. No explanation is needed. Even the USC players said props out to OSU....."they won fair and square" a linebacker said.
Scoreboard.
they don't appear to be mentally prepared for the weak teams...they beat top 25 teams worse than they beat in conference unranked teams. hard to get mad b/c of the success we've had, but its getting old.
Not so shocking?!?! I heard in passing that this is the first time in 25-30 years that a team with a losing record has beaten the #1 team. I haven't checked this out myself, but if true would certainly tell me it was not only shocking, but probably ranks up there with some of the all-time shocking upsets.
This has happened the last few years........do you call every single loss an upset? Maybe USC just got beat period. *shrugs*
The Beavs were 1-2 and they won't have a losing record at the end of the season.
USC got their asses handed to them, anyone who watched the game can tell you that.
If you disagree you're either a trojan homer or simply an idiot. OSU established their running game in the middle early, punched USC in the mouth and the trojans simply didn't know how to respond. It happens everytime an opponent stands up to them and isn't intimidated by the trojans' image.
And please don't make excuses about not being mentally prepared. That's part of being a championship team, you win games you should win. Plain and simple.
Thank you..........that is what I said.
An upset is if a team throws a lucky touchdown towards the end of the game, or gets alot more turnovers and scores off of them. An upset isnt when you get your ass kicked from the start to the finish of a game by a supposedly inferior team.![]()
Didn't Stanford beat #1 SC last year with a losing record?
They didn't say a losing record at the end of the year - just their record when they beat the #1 team.
Was USC #1 at the time? I know there were a LOT of #2 teams that got beat last year. Not sure where USC was ranked when Stanford beat them.
EDIT: Google search says USC was #2 at the time.

The Trojans do this every year. They start believing the press clippings about how great they are, and then just expect to show up and win. You'd think they would've learned their lesson by now. Other teams aren't going to just roll over and let you win simply because you're the mighty USC Trojans.
Of course it was an upset.
But, it was an upset that clearly showed that USC is not anywhere close to being the best team in the country. Period.
Oregon was #1 at the time. We were liike #9.
Seeing Mark Sanchez throw his mouthpiece in disgust after the game was priceless. It was nice to see USC go down.
Then why predict a USC blowout if you know they don't bring it against weaker compe ion?
Come to grips that USC is not the premier college program in the country. It's "one" of them, but not "the" premier program.
Also come to grips that Joe McKnight is not the second coming and Mark Sanchez cannot lead a championship team, and Pete Carroll and Sartegian's gimmick offenses are starting to get stale and predictable.
Showing your face and still being a USC apologist with the "only way we get beat is if we beat ourselves" type at ude.
If they do, it will be just as much of a travesty as Ohio State making it to the NC game last season.lets see if SC can make it back to the le game...long season.
And, lastly, for all your , go yourself with a trojan sword.
gimmick? Since when did Carrol run that? Joe McKnight is nothing close to Reggie
Good to see people finally recognizing the Pussific10 for what it is on a national level -- a one team, weak conference.
I think we all saw what Penn State did to this same Oregon State team.

and let's see what they do against Ohio State.
Sorry but as weak as the Pac-10 is, the Big 10 is weaker, and has been for some time.
SC loses to oregon state and everyone loses their mind...(sigh)
I think the big question now is, could Oregon St beat the St Louis Rams
You still don't realize how much of a complete ass you are about USC.
USC didn't beat themselves. It wasn't USC not showing up. Oregon State outplayed them, out-coached them, and punched them in the mouths.
Instead of being cavalier and saying this happens all the time, just own it. USC got outplayed and they aren't the best team in the country. They aren't a top 5 team in the country.
