Sarah Palin upstaged Joe Biden all the way, from her handshake and "Okay if I call you Joe?", from which she immediately smiled and scored a point when she saw the befuddled look on his face and immediately chalked up another point by his failure to respond with "Okay if I call you Mrs. Palin?"

Totally unlike Palin, Biden paid little or no attention to the American (and international) viewing public, rarely, rarely looking directly at the camera (us), painfully oblivious to the fact that his words were directed only to the moderator of the debate, thereby wasting precious TV time trying to convince the moderator of Obama's merit, despite the fact that she is already an Obama supporter.

Palin, on the other hand, gained huge amounts of points by cleverly taking every advantage of the visual technique of looking directly at the TV camera, upstaging Biden again and again by bringing herself, her face, voice, and smile, directly into our living rooms. It didn't matter how well or poorly she answered questions -- what we saw was a very earnest young woman who very likely will come through the back door (via the 25th Amendment) to become the Acting President of the United States via who looked directly at us when she spoke and voiced her opinions.

Too bad Joe. You flunked the Palin/Biden debate.

I'm still shocked that she would admit to a desire to increase the power of the Vice President. She might be from the Cheney school of expansive executive power, but stating without reservation that she would advocate for further expansion is both amazing and, to me at least, frightening.

So someone with almost little experience outside of being Mayor of a tiny town and the governor for the 47th largest state in America, as well as second only to Hawaii in terms of distance from the lower 48, who may have the chance to become VP and the chance to be President isn't like my example? It is and you know it.

Accent? She's from Alaska and Bush is from Texas and neither can enunciate for . If it was a matter of accent two accents thousand miles apart shouldn't make the same mistake.

I really don't think anything will be made of it. The big story of the night seems to be that she finished the debate and didn't start speaking in tongues.
