I saw the movie last night a sneak preview and I have to say it was better than I thought. Adam Sandler was funny as and there were alot of stars in the film. I have to say this was a well done remake taking nothing away from the original and even including Burt Reynolds.

but i've seen smokey n the bandit a few dozen times...

I dont think the new one ruins it at all. If you watch it, it is somewhat of a sequel for Burt, not just because he was in the first one. Why would you say that it ruins it?

I've watched the original many times, so I can't imagine this one being as good. That being said, I'm not a Adam Sandler fan at all, but.....I'll probably go watch it b/c the wife wants to see it.(I'm always picking the movies, so this time I let her. LoL) The first one was funny, but good 'ol fashion fun. This one, and I'm only guessing, will probably have alot of "bathroom humor", which at times is not funny. But, oh well! I'll wait and see!!

Longest yard is gettin awful reviews which sucks cause I have plans to go see it tomorrow. Most reviewers said something to the effect of you'll want the hour and half back that you spent watching it.

Can anyone tell me why I should go see it?

this movie is okay. not a waste of time, but nothing spectacular. i had to see it bc i thought the first one was bad ass.. thing is, they are two different beasts. 1st one was more like a drama while this second one is a comedy.

Havent seen the first one but i really enjoyed the movie, laughed a lot and it was good...id recommend it, even my friends who dont know football enjoyed it.
