Cheikh Samb. When they picked him up he weighed 195. Considered a "project" at the time.

    Hairston better make this team..

I have no doubt that he would look even better feeding off Tim, Manu and TP with his athleticism..he's the type of guy that we haven't had in a while..I hope he keeps improving..

I like JV, but I don't see a reason to keep him on the team..maybe just me..I'd rather have him as a coach-type guy on the bench, but I don't see his use on the 12-man roster..I'd rather use one of the last spots on scorers, since that's clearly been our flaw..

Gotta give the Spurs props for spending to bring in some quality training camp fodder. Everyone outside of Gaines seems to be NBA level players.

He looks pretty good. The only thing that worries me about him is he doesn't really have an NBA body. He's kinda short, stubby and thick.

Samb isn't bad. He had some good games in the D-League last year. I've hoped the Pistons would cut him so the Spurs could stick him in Austin for a year.

The Spurs looked good without Manu, TP, KT, Finley and Mason. The Pistons played their guys for a while except for Billups.

It's almost weird to have prospects to talk about.

This season is probably as big of a question mark as we've had since '03-'04.

im cheering more and more for hairston at this point. a small part of my motivation would be wanting him to have a bigger impact than dragic.

    yes, absolutely.

I wonder if the program that now includes Austin will make them more serioes about camp invites from here forward?

I really hope Hairston make it too. Besides the obvious fact that we need a swingman of his skills and athleticism, I surely wouldn't want the PHX trade to be deemed a failure. I hope he's more successful that Dragic.

    no?

His knees were iced after the game, but that's pretty routine after 11 extended seasons.
