Probably a hustle that didn't go as planned. Jordan throws the first game, gets the guy to agree to a rematch with a friendly wager, calls him a chicken until he pushes the bet up to $12 million, and then Jordan destroys him.
This may have been posted before, so apologies if it has. But, here's the actual video of Michael Jordan getting beat by a CEO at one of his camps. It was only a game up to 3. But, hey, the guy that beat him was about to collapse from exhaustion and Jordan was talking trash the entire time, so it was still amusing.
