Patron is the Grey Goose of tequilas. Massively overrated and overpriced. If I want to spend bank on a bottle, Don Julio is far superior for the same price. Herradurra is $10-$15 per bottle cheaper than Patron, and beats it too.

i've been on a tequila shakedown as of late and i'm trying to narrow down the best one. i've never tried don julio. i tried herradurra a long time ago and can't remember the taste. which one has the better anejo?

Hey Goose is the only vodka I can stomach since I overdosed on Skyy and Smirrnoff Red when I was 22. I need to branch out and try some other. Any recommendations baseline? Don Julio is pretty awesome (my fav so far) and herradurra was pretty damn good too. I havent tried Don Julio Anejo yet but the herradura anejo was good. Do you guys have Iron Cactus in SA, Dallas?
I can't do Don Julio. I tried shooting that last year when the Ravens took it up the ass from NE, and I had a hangover for two days.

Hornitos kind of sucks, its just a step above Cuervo IMO. Go get you some Don Julio today, you wont regret it.

vodka is blech, but Chopin and Belvedere are choice. Goose blows.
Yea I can't shoot tequila, I only use the Hornitos for margaritas
sheeeit, anything you willingly dilute or mix can't be that great.
I havent read all the pages, but yeah, Costco's Liquor Store (although their selection is limited) does have awesome prices and you don't need a membership to buy it.

Yeah it can be but they have a GREAT tequila selection. They better they are a tequila bar. I go and sample some new ones every now and again.

oh ok. we have this place Blue Mesa Grill up here that does a tequila sample for $5. it's 4 or 5 baby shots of any tequila. that's where i need to go.
Mid shelf vodka i.e Goose, Three Olives, is as good as I'll ever go. Rail vodka is ty, but why pay a premium price for a drink that tastes like rubbing alcohol. The whole point of vodka is distillation and the mid-range brands do more than good enough a job at delivering super distilled and clean vodka. I don't need to pay an extra 50-100 bucks to get already 99.999% pure vodka that's filtered four extra times.

I was getting ready to say they are REALLY ripping you guys over there for this stuff if they were selling pints of that Silver for $50. Yeah that price is the same over here for the liter bottles.
