The Jazz almost traded forward Carlos Boozer last season when it was learned that his son had been diagnosed with life-threatening sickle cell anemia.

Boozer privately requested to be dealt somewhere closer to where the child was being treated in Miami, which is an area much more conducive to recovery than Utah.

Boozer played through the season mostly away from his son, and before a trade could be worked out, his son full recovered.

"So it got back to business as usual," Jazz owner Larry Miller said, "and never really got public."

Why is it that Boozer's child is coincidentally being treated in the city Boozer has been rumored to go to since the end of last season? This is a horrible disorder to have but I find it odd the child is being treated in the city he is expected to go to as a free agent or via trade.

This is like Fisher being allowed to void his contract to worry about his daughter and get her treated, I don't think Utah intended for him to sign a multi-year contract somewhere else, and they def. would have handled it differently if they knew he was gonna take advantage of the situation and go to a conference rival.

Why would any team trade for him anyways? We all know he is going to opt after the season. A team would have to be crazy to give up a player or players and picks for someone that is going to end up in South Beach regardless.

And there have been Boozer 2 Miami rumors for months, that's why this is extremely su ious, and the Derek Fisher thing that happened a little over a year ago even makes it more su ious. The NBA gives the players too much power, which is why the NFL > NBA.
