The Lakers came out and played a slow, grind-it-out, low scoring, ugly game and won. They held BOS to 81 pts and only 16 pts in the 4th quarter. They out-executed BOS in the clutch when it mattered most and actually out-rebounded them in the game. Bynum and Ariza were huge factors defensively.

The Lakers gained all the confidence in the world from this win. They needed to win this game. They needed to know that they could beat BOS at their kind of game. Obviously it wouldn't have meant as much for the Celtics if they had won, they have nothing left to prove.

I don't get it either to be honest. I think the fact that LA has eliminated SA from the playoffs a few times this past decade has something to do with it though.

If only Spurs fans knew what BOS fans were really like, they would never root for them.
