    Question -

Is this really the worst team in NFL history? I know 0-16 is a low unparalleled but the Lions gave away two against Minnesota and scored 23 against the Bears in one quarter this year. And I think they were at .500 when Dallas rallied to beat them in 07.

Can the cupboard empty that quickly?

if teams were remembered for playing good a couple of quarters every now and then, the mavs would be considered an elite team

Good teams find a way to win, bad teams find a way to lose. I really feel bad for this team. Im just glad the Dolphins won 1 game last year, we were one Camarillo catch away from being the worst ever. Honesty it is their own fault, they have been horrible in drafting. If they draft another WR, they deserve to lose another 16 games.

Worst team ever was the 2006 Raiders. It was unbeavable. That was the worst O-line i've ever seen in my life.

I got my hopes up over 19-0 last year only to have them dashed at the last minute, so I'm expecting a 98 yd touchdown pass to Calvin Johnson followed by an onside recovery and touchdown in the last minute by the Lions to ruin 0-16.

Maybe 19-0 will happen someday to a team that isn't full of cheaters and smug bas s, then the football gods will actually grant them the right of being the first 19-0 team ever.

This franchise is run horribly. All you need to know. The d-coord is the Head Coaches son-in-law, so he is not going to get fired...which is what Rob Parker alluded to in his comments. The head coach is horrible, and never gives a straight answer...always goes off into some diatribe about shovels and picks. Not to mention Ford has no idea how to properly run an NFL team. This team has about 3-4 players that I would actually keep around (Sims/Smith/Cherilus/CJ).

Thats how bad Millen has run this franchise into the ter. 4 draft picks I would actually keep in his 8 years.

Well then it definitely won't be the Colts with Bill "crowd noise CD's kick ass!" Polian, Tony "I love Jesus more than anybody" Dungy, and of course gun afficionado Marvin Harrison.

I didn't say it would be the Colts, just that "We're only gonna score 17 points? Ha ha ha!" was the harbinger of doom for the Patriots. It's the same thing in baseball when if you're pitching a shutout, you don't walk off the mound after the fifth inning and say "I'm shutting these es out today" to your teammates. When Brady said that, it was akin to slapping the football gods in the face and saying we don't need you to win this game. What a smart person would've done in that situation was say something like "Plax could have at least spotted us 21, but we'll see what happens on the field."

That season the Pats had overcome Spygate, the Colts game, the Eagles game, the Ravens game, the Giants game, not being able to keep the Chargers from getting to the redzone on four straight possessions (but luckily for the Pats, they have that mental edge over the Chargers that they used to have over the Colts in the playoffs), and then Brady goes on TV and drops the NFL equivalent of "I'm shutting these es out today."

That's all you really need to look at to explain 18-1 in my opinion.

And on the subject of Dungy, it's cool that he's been able to keep his faith through everything that happened to him. I know if my son hung himself to death while I was coaching an NFL team that was owning teams the way the 2005 Colts did, which inevitably sidetracked my team into losing to Ben ing Roethlisberger in a home game that ended with a blown defensive touchdown return and missed FG by the most accurate kicker ever, I'd probably be dealing crack and doing drive bys every night right now. Maybe that's a stretch for Dungy... if some faith shattering incident happened to him again, I could see him as a Jules Winfield type though.
