Harpring and Nowitzki were tangled under the basket and as they were breaking apart, Nowitzki flailed his right arm and caught Harpring squarely on the mouth and referee Jason Phillips immediately signaled for the ejection.

It's not like the Jazz are a weak ball club. They're 13-2 against the Western Conference. Even a crippled Utah team will find ways to be competetive.

NBA suspends Mavericks’ Nowitzki 1 game
DALLAS (AP)—Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki has been suspended for one game for a flagrant foul in a game against the Utah Jazz.
Stu Jackson, the league’s executive vice president for basketball operations, announced the suspension on Sunday, when Nowitzki will sit out the Mavericks’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Nowitzki, a co-captain, tangled with Jazz forward Matt Harpring under the basket with about 10 minutes remaining in Friday’s game. As they were separating Nowitzki flailed his right arm and caught Harpring squarely in the mouth.
