That's a great card although I am pretty embarrassed for Cro Cop sinking so low and headline with a freak show.
Hong Man Choi vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
Eddie Alvarez vs. Shinya Aoki
Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Kiyoshi Tamura
Gesias "JZ" Calvancante vs. Joachim Hansen
Mark Hunt vs. Jerome Le Banner
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kozo Takeda*
Gegard Mousasi vs. Musashi*

That's a great card although I am pretty embarrassed for Cro Cop sinking so low and headline with a freak show.
Naturally no Japanese fighting event would be complete without the addition of the occasional freak show.
In a bizarre (but certainly expected) twist, Bob ‘The Beast’ Sapp will take on none other than a character from a Japanese anime show.
The character in question is ‘Kinniku Mantaro’ from the show ‘Ultimate Muscle’. Mantaro is known to start matches off slowly and act a bit of a coward in the TV show until his opponent acts dishonorably (as Sapp does from time to time). Then Mantaro gets his inner strength and hulks up or something along those lines.
Now obviously someone’s going to be behind the mask and costume. That person will be Japanese amateur wrestling prospect Akihito Tanaka, so perhaps some skill will be involved and it won’t be a total squash match.
Sapp relies on his size when fighting and not so much technical prowess but in Tanaka’s case how do you out wrestle someone who weighs 350lbs?
I do not know if Mirko has big of a chance against Choi.
Other then that we hav another battle between LeBanner and Hunt. Strange that it will be in MMA rules. It is almost guaranted that they will stand up.
I will cheer for Hunt!
I really hope Alvarez smashes Aoki.
JZ-Hansen should be a war.
I really wish some of these guys were in the UFC. This is going to be a tough fight for CC. Seriously. It pretty much should be under k-1 rules.
They are going to let him wear that mask in the fight??![]()
Yea, I dont get these crazy jap promotions...so strange.
I'll laugh if CroCop gets kneed in the face and knocked out. Sorry Evan.
I do my best and try to look at everything objectively and as a card carrying member of the Cro Cop fan club I find deep shame in this fight....
Choi was at one time a good KICKBOXER.....but that was years ago and his weird disease has slowed him to a crawl. What business he has fighting in MMA is beyond me. Literally I am embarrassed for Cro Cop. If he loses I am sure he will pull the injury card he is so fond of nowadays.
Cro Cop is a hall of famer but the dude has fought so much I think his body is just broken down............ when you combine his kickboxing fights with his mma career the dude has been through . I wish he would go away for a year and heal up. He is still young enough to take a long break and come back.
As far as Sapp....my younger step brother from Tokyo (I'll never get used to saying that) is bouncing off the wall in joy at that fight. They freaking love Bob Sapp. They don't look at sports like we do...to them its all entertainment. Nothing more.
His 2006 was amazing to watch. It was pleasure to watch him destroy top compe ion.
It's just kinda sad to see him fighting HMC. You're right though, his body has been through and back.
No, he's wearing this one...
and he'll beat Sapp...he's a legit MMA prospect and a top notch wrestler...via armbar...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is a real fight? I thought it was a predetermined ending but a free style exhibition. Sapp will turtle in one hit to the face. A hit to Sapp's face has magical vagina growing powers.
Classic
No, the guy is legit, despite the shenanigans...

Yeah I am not sure I can pull that one either. I did too many PRIDE's, bodog and some other crap on HDNet...on top of moving in a few days I don't have it in me. I'm bleary eyes as it is right from only sleeping for 3 hours last night and having to wake up in 6 hours...ugh...
Start time now shows 4 am...
Melvin Manhoef fears no man...he's replaced LeBanner and will face Hunt.
