The buzzer beater was great but it was still an embarassing performace by the Spurs(got killed on the boards/weak defensive effort resulted in the opposing team shooting a better percentage than us on the night).
the Spurs sucked in the 2nd half. The refs sucked in the 2nd half, letting Philly hack the Spurs nonstop but not letting the Spurs get near the two Andres.
I am convinced that the Spurs are out to increase heart attacks just so Christus Santa Rosa can get more business...can't they just win going away? Why does every game have to come down to the end?

ummm...new fan?
Final: Spurs 108, Sixers 106
By Joe Alexander
Tony Parker made a high-arcing jumper as time ran out to give the Spurs a hard-won 108-106 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Spurs led by 21 points early in the game before the Sixers stormed back.
Parker had gone scoreless most of the second half but made but hit a jumper with 2:02 left. His final shot came when he rebounded a missed 3-pointer, spun and fired the ball almost straight up from the right side.
Tim Duncann led the Spurs with 26 points, Manu Ginobili had 21 and Parker had 15.
FOURTH QUARTER
A Manu Ginobili basket with 1:01 put the Spurs in front 106-104. The Spurs haven't trailed in the fourth quarter, but it's been tight the whole way.
The Sixers got back-to-back dunks from Theo Ratliff and Andre Iguodala to keep it close. The Spurs lead 102-100 with 3:21 left.
The Spurs lead 98-96 with 5:51 left. Tony Parker just missed a driving shot. He hasn't scored since the first half - he is 0 of 6 from the field in the second half.
Manu Ginobili entered the game with 7:34 left. He is probably in for the rest of the way.
Roger Mason is having a good shooting night. He is 5 of 7 from the field and has four points in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. The Spurs lead 93-91 with 8:42 left. They could use one or two more 3-pointers from Mason down the stretch.
THIRD QUARTER
The Spurs are clinging to an 84-81 lead at the end of the third quarter. The Sixers, who trailed by 21 points at the end of the first quarter, actually led 79-78.
The Spurs got 3-pointers from Michael Finley and Roger Mason Jr. in the final 35 seconds of the third quarter. The Sixers' Andre Miller scored 14 points in the quarter.
The Sixers are making a push to get back even. Thaddeus Young threw down an alley-oop dunk and the Spurs' lead is down to 78-72 - the closest the Sixers have been since the first four minutes of the game.
The Sixers got off to a solid start to the second half. A fast-break basket by Andre Iguodala cut the Spurs' lead to 73-61. Gregg Popovich called a timeout less than three minutes into the third quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
The Big Three combined for 43 points and the Spurs made 10 3-pointers on the way to taking a 66-50 halftime lead. Tim Duncan had 19 points, including eight in the last six minutes of the half.
The game is settling into a slower pace and that fits Tim Duncan. He has five of the Spurs' last seven points and they lead 57-44.
The Spurs' starters helped get their offense going midway through the second quarter. Tony Parker had two baskets in a 9-4 Spurs run and they lead 54-40.
The Spurs' energy level dipped in the second quarter and the Sixers cut what had been a 21-point Spurs lead down to nine points.
The second quarter didn't start like the first. The Sixers made an 8-2 run and Gregg Popovich called a timeout. The Spurs lead 42-27.
FIRST QUARTER
A 21-point first quarter is about average for the Spurs. Tonight they lead by 21 at the end of the first quarter - it's 40-19.
The Spurs made 9 of their first 11 shots. They were 8 of 9 from 3-point range in the first quarter.
Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner have combined for 20 points just over seven minutes into the game. The Spurs have already hit four 3-pointers, three by Bonner, and lead 23-11.
Matt Bonner drilled 3-pointers on the Spurs' first two possessions. Tim Duncan added a basket and a three-point play and Roger Mason Jr. hit a 3-pointer. The Spurs have lots of energy and a quick 14-4 lead.
spurs games against cellar dwellars are almost always thrillers... unfortunately
No, he took the shot with 4 seconds left. Tony got the rebound and put it up at the buzzer and it went it.
It was the right shot by Manu.
ha! my brother-in-law works for Christus and my dad performed a lot of heart surgeries at Santa Rosa.
If he did then Manu earned that shot. I will retract my statement about trying to pass the ball off to Mason.
isn't a 3 a low-percentage shot? don't you want to shoot a three at the end of a game only if you need it to tie or win?
Time was running out and the ball was passed to Manu while he was waiting on the corner. He missed the shot badly then TD (i think) kept the ball alive then TP picked it up, made a turnaround jumper on the wrong leg, fired up a high arching shot and swishhh...all net baby!!! Spurs win!
Andre Miller stupidly turned it over with 12 seconds to go, TP got a screen from Duncan went down the lane and kicked it to Manu in the corner who just hit the side of the rim. Ball came to TP who hit a turn around over Andre Miller from about 12 feet.
a W + a NO L nice night finally
but the Spurs were really hitting the 3's tonight - so it wasn't the worst shot he could've taken.
I still consider NO to be the superior team. They have less losses and they're 9-7 vs .500 teams while the Spurs are 6-9.
Well yes, but Tony ran down the clock then began his drive with about 5 seconds left and kicked it to Manu who was semi-open. There wasnt enough time to get another shot. he could have put the ball on the floor but the painted area was packed as they all collapsed to stop TP's penetration.
It was the right shot i thought, Tony gave him the ball there and there wasnt much else he could do.
i can't see what could be a worse shot than a 3 at the end of the game when you're tied. all you need is ONE point to win.
The Hornets are only down 12, and there's a still a full quarter to play. Don't call it yet.
76ers FG 54.4%
Rebs
76ers 40
Spurs 32
he couldn't drive in and maybe draw a foul? that's usually what you want to do in that situation, not jack up a three.
I dont care about the other teams, they have their own problems.
This kind of close games is good for the Spurs as it will toughen the up for the second half of the season. More close games so they wont be rattled when the same thing happens in the playoffs.
i know i know but it would be so nice
The way the refs were calling it,they werent gonna give them a foul call.
And that is why analysts like Hollinger don't respect us. We play like crap against the quality opponents and need buzzer beaters and OT wins to beat the lottery teams.
Parker's moment, and Duncan with another night at the office.
26 points on 11-15
12 boards, 5 offensive
3 assists
1 block
2 turnovers and only 4-8 at the line, but he was something in the first half.
