Someone had three, count 'em three approvals for mortgage modifications and didn't take them. Now they're going to have to declare bankruptcy to save their home tomorrow.
It's just amazing that some people actually believe that if you declare bankruptcy all your bills/creditors just go away!

Blame our school systems and parents for not even teaching basic credit and living rules laws and what not..

A lot of ignorance is not the result not of lack of information, but rather is due to laziness- the refusual to seek out knowledge and apply it.
It would be nice if our parents taught us everything we need to know, but life does not work that way.
There are plenty of teaching tools, resources, and other human examples to use in the gaining of knowledge and making good decisions.
People may not always know exactly what isn't working but it is often fairly obvious that something is not working and needs to be adjusted.
Well then I'll just blame the idiots who think they can buy something without actually having money. I know that over simplifies things but come on. Shouldn't one at least know how much money they have? And shouldn't it seem odd to them when someone is eager to sell them something and says "Oh, it's okay if you don't have any money" ?!?! I don't think the schools can teach anyone common sense.
How does a kid know to look into it if he does not know what he might get into. Parents should teach as much as they can to their kids especially finance. Parents prepare their child for the road ahead and if the kid chooses to not listen and ruin their credit that's one thing. If you have a mom that is on welfare and they use that money to buy themselves nice things while their child is there only in a dirty diaper what is that telling her other children. I wish my mom told me a few things about credit when I was 16 or 17.
