Delfino?
Wouldn't that be a bit pointless bringing in another wing?
Its not like anyone is beating down the doors for Udoka and or Finley.
And don't forget the players who left the NBA for Euro ball who want back into the NBA. Krstic could just be the beginning.
For example, if the rumors are correct that Delfino wants to come back to the NBA, that roster spot and $2M+ could come in handy.
The pipe dream at this point is that Josh Childress gets fed up with Greece and comes crying back.

My pipe dream is about a certain Brazilian player who wouldn't be happy in Spain...
I was never anti-Tolliver because I liked what I saw of him during summer league. I also knew Pop likes to have 2 perimter-shooting bigs on the roster (Horry/Bonner & Bonner/Tolliver). I truly expected Tolliver to have shot the ball better at this level than he did.
As far the race for roster spots at the beginning of the season goes, Watkins WAS indeed my first choice. That was based off the opinions of those well-informed observers, who saw the guy in preseason. Hairston was my second choice. With Tolliver being the final choice.
I believe there's still a future for him with the Spurs and I fully expect Pop to bring him back to both SL and training camp, provided no other teams snatches him up.
In the meantime, we're both singing the second verse of the "Tim needs help on the frontline" song. That still remains a priority.
True, true.
Agreed. Don't see the point of adding yet another wing player. Unless, of course, the Spurs move someone to make room for him.
That is a pipe dream, but a great one at that.
Bargain hunting. $2.5M is less than he'd go for in an offseason.
Make that a "wet" pipe dream.
I even sometimes look at some TAU message board to see if he is unhappy or if Tau has some financial troubles.

Find anything?
Nothign at all.
That's why I put thesmiley.
Is the toilet industry taking a downturn in Spain?
Seriously though, has there been any talk of Tau losing money or going through the struggles other teams are going thru? That'd be the only way I could see what's his name come over at this point.
Oh and with his rookie deal, the Spurs could land he and Childress if they do it right.

Typed too slow
Oh well, I'll take Childress.
Tolliver blew anyway
Don't say stuff like that Bruno.
While true, again, where would he fit?
You'd have to almost force trade Udoka or Finley.
Look if they aren't getting a big then it doesn't matter what they do with the 15th because we have plenty of wings to compensate for any injuries at that position. It something happens to another Big then we are in trouble, personally I think we are in trouble unless we grab some big man help from somewhere if possible. we are where we were with the trade for Nazr when he came mid season so let's hope someone can just come in a do some grunt work, just rebound and play good position defense and I love the chances at a le but without something like that, I don't like our chance unless some more injuries take out key players on several team when the Spurs play them.
I can see them give Andre Brown a 10 day contract.
Heh, dreaming about Euro centers, how about Javtokas. Roster finalization for the playoffs is 16 April, 2009. The last Dynamo Moscow Russian League game is 5 April 2009 (see here : http://www.dynamobasket.com/en/games.php?&cID=51 ), and the ULEB cup final last year (if Dynamo gets there) was 13 April 2008 (for last season), and I can't find when this one would be.
Javtokas coming over for the remainder of the season would be a y meatball... He'd be out of contract at that point (I believe he is an FA in Europe this coming summer), and $1,000,000 not pro-rated would easily bring him over for the last 15 games + the playoffs...It'd be a good way to get a good look at him in an NBA context, and he's very likely better than anyone we could possibly get from the D-league (or even by trading unless we pulled a real steal).
another thought: Croshere was waived yesterday. any chance that the Spurs sign him to a 10 day contract? he's pretty much Bonner, but Spurs are in love with 3pt shooting bigs, so maybe?
Tolliver was always lost out there. Never could find a rhythm. His absence leaves no deficiencies we don't already have (ie, interior presence, help for Tim). I hope he finds a home somewhere, but I think being cut by the Spurs is not good for a player's resume. we fit all kinds of square pegs into round holes. This guy was just too square.
Dream on dreamer. Not if he's got blood in this ankle joint according to recent posts.

I doubt the Spur do a damn thing with this spot. Pop even said something about tightening the roster and figuring out where everyone fits. That doesn't sound like they're shopping for anything.
