Yeah I always think the same other years too. I just didn't post much previous years. it's still early. I'm just frustrated cause there is so many good teams these days.
We're gonna own those in Fakers on Wednesday night and I can't hardly wait. Magic just got lucky they hit so many damn threes. That and the refs weren't particularly kind to us tonite. Lekars will have their 8th loss of the season by Thursday morning.![]()

Look with the way magic shoot the way they did tonight and the refs officiated the game, it should've been a blowout victory for them. It wasn't.
Finley was getting torched by every god damn Orlando player. I mean JJ Red , cmon.
Pop again lost us this game with his Finley Man crush. It's freaking sickening to see Finley getting schooled.![]()
The Spurs were fine because they have been playing scrub teams.
Huh? He's not Manu of old, but he wasn't terrible tonight. He got to the rack, tried hard, missed a lot of shots... oooo, and he was -19 tonight! Ouch. But Tim was -13, so what does that tell us?
As for his TOs - 2008, 2.04 in 26mins, career average 2.1 in 27mins. In other words, he's turning it over the same as he always has.
I couldn't believe it when I saw Mason was not out there after that time out. I'm looking at Bonner and Finley. One of these two shouldn't have been in instead of Mason. Tonight it was Finley that shouldn't have been in there. Matt battled hard, didn't play great, but all didn't get many shots.
By doing good on Dwight, do you mean we only held him to 24 pts, 14 rebounds, while shooting 75% from the floor and 84% from the line with 2 blocks?
He had 4 critical and more like game changing turnovers.
He looked ragged and freaking flopped all over the court tonight. No wonder they didn't call that charging foul (which was clearly an offensive foul) on Howard.
Hard to conjure why Pop would have more faith in Finley over Mason in such a situation. Disappointing.
I love both of these teams and that game sucked.
True. They have LAL twice, Utah, NO, and the suns all in January. It's probably be a better test but i'm waiting for March to roll around
Oh, while still allowing the Magic to shoot 3's all day? So we dont stop Dwight, dont stop the 3 point shooting, what were they stopping?
I swear man, why not just leave Tim on him in the 4th quater? Is Dwight that much better than Tim.
Pop seriously needs to start getting on these guys asses once in a while (especially Finley & Manu).
Manu needs discipline as he's way too erratic nowadays.
Exactly, we ain't getting nowhere this year without a lick of defense.
I'll never understand that either. True, Mason made a mistake by sagging off of Red (how obvious is it to let Howard CREATE BY HIMSELF with 4 seconds on the shot lock?) but Finley makes numerous mistakes on the defensive end and gets a free pass 24/7. Finley responded by clanking two threes. Finley has done well this season but Mason should have been in-he just hit a three and is known to heat up.
dude, wtf?
the spurs are one of the best and is still jan.
Huh? It was a great game to watch except the ending and the refs.
Thank god it still January. Lots of work to do...
Tough loss but what are you going to do when a team hits 63% of their threes? That kind of shooting is just a statistical aberration...meaning, it ain't going to happen often.
That being said, Magic are looking nice these days. I didn't really consider them an elite team til tonight. They're taking care of business. They took care of us. We have work to do. The FO has serious work to do.
This is the NBA. Just because we've been playing scrub teams, doesn't automatically make it an automatic W. Spurs have been going out and taking care of business. They've only lost two games to 'scrub' under .500 teams since mid-November when they weren't healthy. Both of those losses were to the Bucks who always play us well.
Look at the Celtics for example. They supposedly had plenty of 'automatic W's' but they end up losing because they aren't taking care of business against scrub teams. They were COMPLETELY healthy losing those games which is even worse for them.
Spurs shot better from the field, had better FT%, out rebounded, out assisted, stole more, blocked more shots, and had less turnovers.
Only thing Magic did better was have more FT attempts and hit more 3's.
But it was weird because all the calls stopped the momentum and marred what was shaping up to be a good game.
I seriously doubt that.
It's just frustrating when a winnable and kind of like a statement game gets away.
The Spurs are fine. They competed with a good team and that's what I wanted to see from them against better compe ion.
Spurs shot 50% from the field and Orlando shot 48.6% from the field.
Spurs outrebounded Orlando 38-33 and both teams had 6 offensive rebounds.
Spurs had 11 turnovers and Orlando had 13 turnovers.
The Spurs made 100% (17-17) in free throws and Orlando made 86% in their FTs.
The difference is the game was the three point shooting. Orlando made 14 of 22 three pointers for 63% and the Spurs made 3 of 13 three pointers for 23%.
Orlando did a good job closing out on the Spurs 3 pt. shooters and the Spurs played terrible 3 pt. defense.
Also, KT played well and hit open jumpers on the pick-n-pop play. That's a good sign. Also, I believe that Mason and Bonner needed more opportunities for shots.
The Spurs will have to work on their 3 pt. defense and they will be ready for Wednesday night.
