Bynum is the dirtiest motherf***er player, who the F knows who many times he has ed his mom. It's a career-terminating injury to hurt one's lung, maybe it'll even turn to be a threat to his life. I am not a bobcats fan but I have to say some words without ego everytime the lakers show their arrogency publicly and de ably.

Bynum is good, just like his teammate Kobe. You're not a man until you commit a rape.

I hope it will be nothing serious for Wallace.

Bynum's foul wasn't really bad but when you are that big and strong, you had to be really careful about what you did on the court because you can quickly injured players.
I think the league should suspend him for one game to send him a message.
If nothing else, that was some lazy ass defense.

It was a hard foul, somewhat dirty, but NBA = No Babies Allowed. A flagrant and a one-game suspension is plenty; this wasn't Kermit Washington laying Tomjanovic out or anything.

I can't help the belief that if the situation had been precisely reversed and the foul had been put on Ariza (or worse yet, Kobe), that the Lakers fans who are trying to minimize this situation would be screaming for the offending Bobcat's head.

I'd think that foul gets Bynum a one-game suspension and I think that's warranted here. In a league that actively encourages athletic players to aggressively drive to the rack -- dunks, after all, do tend to add excitement to the game -- it would be a travesty to send a message that a big man's choice to throw an elbow into the exposed mid-section of such players is acceptable or minimally punished. The last thing this league needs is to have its explosive players wondering whether a big man who faces no reprisals will cheap shot them at their most vulnerable.
    +1

Bynum's not a dirty player. That was a flagrant for sure. But if he does get suspended, shall be it (although I don't think he should be). He was just slow to come over and was out of position to make the defensive play, so he chose the lazy way and just reached. At 50 sec in the video, it does look like he tries to reach up and block the ball just when Wallace was about to jump, but Wallace jumped too quick and he ended up being elbowed. Bynum did come over to check if he was ok afterwards. That does not look like a dirty play with the purpose to injure.
Yeah and everytime Jason Terry tackles someone, he tries to help them up. It's called "acting". Not saying Bynum meant to hurt Wallace, but more than 1 game suspension is worthy.

Listening to Bobcats Pregame and they said Andrew waited at the Bobcat's team bus after the game to try and apologize to Coach Brown, the team, and was trying to find out if he could visit Gerald in the hospital. Also said Andrew's agent called Coach LB numerous times this morning expressing Andrew's concern about Gerald.

Wallace is a hack…I can’t stand these players who charge & play with reckless abandon…Clearly Bynum was in a defensive position trying to avoid getting run over by the out of control Wallace….
Wow, a totally biased comment. Next!

Shaq fouled Stuckey hard and got suspended (and Shaq's foul wasn't as bad as this one).

Speights commited a similar foul over Scalabrine and got suspended.

Bynum should have been ejected and sit out for 1 or 2 games, it's that simple. I don't even understand what people are arguing? If he had malicious intent or not? I believe not, but it's immaterial - when players do boneheaded plays like this, they shall get suspended.

Bynum's probably on steroids, that's why he hurt Wallace with an elbow that didn't look that hard. That or Wallace's lungs are made of glass. Either way, I hope Wallace has a speedy recovery, I always loved his tenacity.

I can see both ends of the coin. However since the flagrant resulted in a player injury the NBA will definitely lean towards sending a message against Bynum and to all players for that type of defense.

And if Bowen or any of the Spurs did exactly what Bynum did to Wallace I'd think harsher and quicker punishments would have been enacted but maybe the refs didn't want to escalate it and let Stern's execs handle it.

Imagine if Bynum broke Duncan's rib and collapsed his lung! Or Lebron, CP3, etc. Injury inducing fouls need to be kept in check.

Not everybody sees the league and basketball issues from the same self-absorbed and paranoid perspective of some Lakers fans. I'd say the exact same thing if it was a C's player or a Thunder player.

What's exactly your point? That players shouldn't be suspended when they weren't playing any big games in the near future?

true not everyone else see the game from some self paranoid hipocritic view of spurs fans... calling one thing dirty is fine, suspending a player is fine... but blaming the whole team and the player himself dirty or in spurs language " es" is just asinine..... take a good long hard look at your spurs team and tell yourself... have these guys played with dignity, repect, and respect for their opponets.....

    ya i thought so...

    also

why else suspend a player? i really see no point in this unless he broke an NBA rule or went completely awol like stephon marbury. i guess suspending them for bad behavior during playoffs is fine but these "flangrants" have been hashed and rehashed in the 70's - 80's so much that it was just a 2 shot foul.... the league has been pussified, people pay to see these players play not some scrub filling in for a suspended player
