Welcome aboard Pops, now go kick some ass.
He can partially make that up with his vastly superior speed and athleticism.
Welcome aboard Pops, now go kick some ass.
I'm hoping, with his athletic ability, the spurs coaching staff can teach him how to play a little better defense. I mean come on they have gotten bonner to play decent defense. If they can teach him some defensive skills hopefully he could match up with players like Lamar Odom and David West.
Definitely worth a try.
Is Tim OK? What does he need for it? A few days rest?
Pop got the inside scoop on the Mavs from Pops. That's why they won big tonight.
just like yourself your sig is ing pathetic
He's a bit sore, he shouldn't be out more than 3 games, I think senor meant Tim needs to be relieved of minutes during games, so he can avg 30-35 min the rest of the season. Hope Pops is up to the challenge.

London's finest, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, the D-League leader in both scoring at 26.6 per game and rebounding with 13 per game, is headed to San Antonio according to an email from his agent.
He's simply been dominating the D-League, so this should come as no surprise, as San Antonio is the best in the business at utilizing the D-League. They'd already signed Malik Hairston and Blake Ahearn to 10-day contracts this year, along with bringing in DerMarr Johnson, Bobby Jones, Jeremy Richardson, Keith Langford, and Marcus Williams.
Here's what I wrote about Pops this morning: 2. Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Austin -- Pops is killing it at this level, in the box scores anyway. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch a full game of his, but in the comments yesterday from Jon L, he noticed that Pops isn't the greatest defender out of the block and he doesn't box out well. The Pops apologist inside tells me that he's already averaging 26.6 points and 13 boards to go with 2.5 blocks, imagine if he starts to apply himself. However, I can't overlook the fact that it doesn't seem as if he's applying himself. Granted, he probably assumes he's not on some of these guys level, but with a guy like Pops, his motor is going to be a big reason for him getting an opportunity.
I just read earlier this year that he has chronic soreness in his knee. Of course, knowing Tim he would never complain about it. He simply pushes through.

Though Duncan recently disclosed that his knee has been sore much of the season, he had gone through the team's morning shootaround without incident.
This is why I fear him having more of a heavy workload as he gets older. At this stage of his career he needs more help and less minutes on a regular basis in order to preserver his remaining years.
Let's see if Pops can provide some depth.

nice.
so when will we get to see Pop's Pops
Probably tonight. Portland is a big team, unless Oden is out.
would be awesome to give Pops a go- as long as he rebounds and plays D.
hopefully we will see some of that athleticism.
lol
"that's for waiving me, es!"
He'll be the Spurs version of Brandon Bass, Paul Millsap, Leon Powe.. Now consider these scenarios: Pops shows he's got game to the delight of Spurs fans. Then next year Gist joins the team and shows that he's got game too.. then all of a sudden Tiago Splitter becomes available and joins the team too.. the Spurs frontline problems become a distant memory. can't blame me for dreaming.
pops owned splitter and scola in the championship last year.....he's ready for prime time.
In what Championship???
he was at the Mavs-Spurs game last night... sitting with RC Buford, so it could be official.
??? lame joke or blissful ignorance
Any idea what he is referring to? Or did he just make that up?
no idea, but I get the feeling this guy is a bit strange in several categories.
