nobody really hates New orleans... it's just nobody really cares about New Orleans professional basketball, including NOLA residents.
Shinn is working on a new deal to lock the Hornets in for at least another 10 years.

New Orleans Hornets reach benchmarks, won't need state inducements

The New Orleans Hornets have reached their attendance benchmarks set by the NBA franchise and the state as part of their lease agreement, and the team will not need any inducements payments from the state.
As part of the amended lease agreement signed in 2007 that runs through 2014, the state could have paid the Hornets as much as $6.5 million if the Hornets failed to reach certain attendance and revenue benchmarks tied to ticket sales.
But the Hornets have thrived at the turnstiles this season, averaging 17,122 fans a game and reaching the sellout limit of 17,188 at the New Orleans Arena 15 times this season, four consecutive. Last season, the Hornets sold out 13 games.
"The Hornets will not receive any performance based inducements this year, which we think the timing of is good," Hornets president Hugh Weber said. "It's a tribute to the deal the that (LSED chairman) Ron Forman, (SMG vice president) Doug Thornton and the Hornets worked out together.
"It's a happy day because it shows that our fans are connected to this brand. Ninety-nine point seven percent of our capacity is being sold. That is really kind of a feel-good story for the NBA in general. If you turn back the clock about a year and a half ago, the LSED, the Hornets and the state were kind of figuring how to manage a risk. There was a lot of uncertainty at the time."

Untrue. I hate NO. Deeply. Passionately.
Hold me.
that's some voodoo magic right there for y'all... good for them...![]()
Why does N.O get a football team and San Antonio can't get one![]()
Good for NOLA, otherwise Paul & Byron will bolt to the Lakers. They still might as Byron will surely replace Phil in the near future.
The NFL keeps focusing on Los Angeles. They're trying to do whatever it takes to bring a team to LA. Also, there is a feeling that Jerry Jones would throw a hissy fit if SA gets a football team.
Another thing is the Alamo Dome may not be suitable as a NFL stadium. The fan support was great in SA, but they may need a new stadium. The Superdome was becoming out-of-date until the hurricane caused major damage allowing for reconstruction worth over 200 million.
because the Saints have sold out every year and have a 20,000 plus waiting list for season tickets.
typical GHAZI ... you sissy cuckold . I am so glad that you know our community so well without living here. idiot
typical mormon
Everyone talks about the majority of the population leaving New Orleans, but they never talk about where that population went. The majority of those who left moved to Baton Rouge which is just west of New Orleans and was not damaged by the storm since the storm blasted everything east of the city. Alot of the fans travel from Baton Rouge.

son there are some people like ghazi, findog, etc. who are just bent on hating on New Orleans. they ignore any success we have on the court or off the court. NOTHING will change their mind. they are simply just bitter, sissy, little cuckold Maverick fans
Typical homeless black guy living in the slums of New Orleans.
Oh wait, that would be racist and lame, right? "But Mr TroutBum, Mormon jokes are the bomb.com!!1 LOL, everyone hates those white a$$ Mormons!!11" Nope, you're still a ing .
stupid mormon stop being a racist
I love New Orleans.
The city, not the team.
Saints games are a blast to go to. I've only been to 2 since I've been here, but both were great fun. Last game I saw was the year before last when they beat the Cardinals.
I get it, sarcasm is tough to read on a message board. I'll try applying it with a hammer next time.
1. 0 rings got
2. Who gives a flying
We're so blessed to have Drew Brees and Chris Paul in the same city. Unreal. The Saints offense is so awesome. We just need to establish a consistent running game and a solid defense. Not sure which team is closer to a championship. Both are playoff calibers, but missing a few pieces to win a le.
thank you son. he is being mean
GHAZI you sissy cuckold calm down. LMAO at a mavericks fan talking about rings ....
talking rings is funny!
Hornets do suck though. Chris Paul will be playing for another in time
