ok. theres lots of hate for this guy. BUT, i think hes proved himself a solid backup SF.
next season we need to drop vaughn, oberto, bonner, and maybe several others will be dropped. but considering how hard it is to find a SF...im sure we can find several young studs to fill key roles next year, but id keep Ime over vaughn, oberto, bonner, and maybe even some others.

He'd have to shoot lights out in the playoffs to get more than $1.5M per year from anyone. If he doesn't improve much, he's probably a vet minimum player.

That's a contract mistake that the Spurs are going to have to live with. It shouldn't lead to another mistake. If Ime continues to improve on defense, they would be short sighted to let go of him. Bonner has improved his shot and given Pop a big that can spread the defense, but he continues to be less than adequate on defense and at the end of the day that outweighs any offensive value that he might have.

    Agreed.

I'd be surprised if Finley doesn't use his player option so I think we can assume he's back next year.

With Pop not playing Bowen much I can assume he'll be gone this off season. Retired most likely.

I think Udoka is the odd man out which wouldn't disappoint me at all.

Ime is so on/off I don't know what to think of him sometimes. The last time he had a pretty damn good game like this one was the Houston game at home. Since then he hadnt contributed much. Let's see how he does in the PO's then..we'll see.

I've NEVER looked at Ime shoot and thought that it was going in..I'm always prepared for a brick..he's also an average defender, unless he's matched up against bigger SFs..he also has poor shot selection..

he has some positives too though..

he's tough, he doesn't mind getting dirty, and he's surprisingly a very good passer..

It all comes down to if Ime makes his shots or not. Thats all he really has offensively so hopefully he has more on nights than off come Playoff time. Thats all we can really hope for as far as Ime is concerned.

I'm iffy on Udoka. If he can be had for a low price and low number of years, and we find significant help elsewhere on the wing, I'd be OK with it. He brings some good stuff to the table, some unique stuff like his physicality and rebounding from the wing. He's gotta be like a 10th-12th man though, nothing more.

There's nothing compelling about Ime's game that warrants the NEED to have to keep him. As has been mentioned already, he passes better than one might expect (especially on the move, surprisingly), doesn't give ground when being posted up, and can hit from long range, but he doesn't bring anything consistently outstanding to the table. That said, I hope he goes off in the playoffs.

Udoka is very inconsistent. One night he'll be scoring and defending well. Other nights he'll be 2-9 and being slower than usual on D. I do like his rebounding though. I would keep him but only if it is not gonna cost Hairston's development.

God some of you guys are so game-by-game. Like be mellow-dont throw a hissy fit if someone has one bad game and don't cream your pants if a guy has one good game. Ime sucks. Because he had a good game doesn't make him all the sudden a decent player. Hes a NBDL player. I give him congrats for a good game but I also don't jump all over it saying we should keep him!!! Are you kidding? I hope so. I'll be very disappointed if he's on the roster next year. Tho if he plays consistently well through the playoffs (which unfortunately it looks like hes going to get good pt) then ill come here and say im a dumbass, and hes worth keeping.

Haha....I remember this guy had like fifteen page post on SR.....and I was like why is everyone on this guy band wagon? The guy is a decent bench player but he has no upside and I would rather bring in a young guy who could actualy get better over time.....Gist, or Casspi....

You know either next year or the following we will be saying the same damn thing about Hill.

Ime's had his chances to shine. He gives the Spurs a slightly above average game every 6th game or so, sprinkled with a lot of yawners and a few WTF!s.

Ok defense, streaky shooting, decent rebounder.

I hope he proves me wrong this post season and emerges as something special, but I see no reason why the Spurs shouldn't try to upgrade his roster spot this offseason.

I think Udoka is gone this summer. He had a good game but does not know the first thing about being consistent, much less consistently good.
