Duncan in that first quarter pretty much dictated what he wanted.

Utah played good D on him and Okur has always given him fits. The 6 turnovers were a case of Duncan just not calming the down.

If Gooden or Thomas or Bonner would've helped out on the rebounding side, the game would've been alot less closer.

If TD were going to lie so he could play more games, he would have done so before three games are left in the season. Lying now doesn't change much of anything.
I don't think it's about lying, as much as it is, the pain being much more tolerable than excruciating.

Listening to Sean (Elliott) talk about how the tendonosis affected him, and how having 2-3 days in-between games felt like a week of rest for him, It almost makes you think that playing the Lakers in the first round, (considering how long the first round is drawn out for t.v. purposes) might be the best way to go.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that a le isn't going to happen this year, given the cir stances, but if the Spurs could play the Lakers before they hit full-stride, and have the extra time in-between games for Tim (that the first round provides) it sure wouldn't suck to send the Lakers home.

Granted, it's not a championship, but it's probably the next best thing.

I don't see any of this happening, since I don't see the Spurs dropping to the 8 seed, but Sean's perspective made me think about it.

The 6 turnovers were a case of Duncan just not calming the down.
That was Duncan's take on it.

“A little too excited, I guess,” he said of his errant throws. “I don't know what it was. They were jumping in passing lanes, and after they got a couple of deflections, a couple of my later passes were high and outside. But at least they were doubling me, and we were finding shooters and moving the ball. I'll get a little bit better and we can get back to playing basketball with double teams and getting open shots for shooters.”

I don't see the Spurs dropping to the 8 seed
Today's win clinched a top seven seed. One more win clinches at worst the fifth seed.

(Looking at the tie-breakers, the Spurs basically have already clinched at worst the 5th seed unless something crazy happens. They could lose out and still likely get the fifth seed. And they very well could win out and still get the fifth seed. [Hopefully Pop isn't reading this.])

i hope we get that 3rd seed and blazers go to 4 or 5, maybe they can take some of the wind out of the lakers sails in round 2.

Yeah, but according to Sean, if Pop would just sign him for the rest of the season, he'd guarantee the Spurs a spot in the lottery.

On a serious note, whatever seed it takes, I'll take the Jazz or Rockets.

Wouldn't be all that worried about N.O. either, especially if the Spurs have home-court, but I'd like to avoid Paul and his theartrics, if at all possible.

Actually a top-6 seed since the Mavs and Hornets play on Sunday, the loser will have 32 losses. If Dallas wins, the Spurs can't finish lower than fifth. The only scenario where the Spurs finish 6th is if they lose out while the Hornets win out. As you said, a top-5 seed is almost certain.

if Duncan can continue to feel better, if we get the 3rd seed, and if Portland/Houston is the 4/5 matchup, this will be an entertaining playoffs for Spurs fans..considering the cir stances..

Thanks...actually been reading since the 2005 playoffs. This site has been my first and best stop for Spurs info since then. Finally decided to see if I could contribute something every now and then.

Yeah, while some of the delusional ramblings that appear in some threads (usually following a bad loss) are a great source of amusement, I think I'll stick to the subjects and comments that are more firmly based in reality. You and your wife seem to do just fine in keeping the noise to a tolerable level.

I also really hope we win 2 out of last 3 and Houston loses both theirs. They got NO at home which should be close and then dallas away-think dallas will take them. I think we gotta win this back to back some how-two beatable teams-we'll see. Gotta get that 3rd seed though cuz IF we make it out of first round i really reallly really reallly reallly reallly reallly dont want to play the get fakers. I cant stand another year of all my bros getting in my face about lakers-spurs . Sometimes livin in socal is in annoying, haha.

Imagine if Duncan can get in his usual beast playoff mode, then add that to TP beasting it up this season. Now that's a duo you don't want to face.

Well, it's a quite surprising news but ti's a good one.
It could turn into a great one if Tim doesn't have setbacks.

With tendonosis there will always be setbacks. Once he starts playing heavy minutes, we will see him laboring out there and playing in pain. Tendonosis just doesn't go away and it's fool's gold to think it has. But, I'm happy as long as Tim is happy. We all know a healthy Tim and Parker can be lethal indeed!

    GREAT news

For the first time since mid-February, Duncan did not play with a brace on that knee. He wore one on his left knee, as he has since underdoing surgery on it after the 1999-2000 season.
    McDonald is wrong again.

TD played without a brace in the right knee in the game against the Thunder

And the brace in his left knee he played a lot with it in 2001 season after the surgery but after that he played with the brace only in some games before using a lot this season.

I think he'll hold up OK, considering that there are no back to backs in the playoffs, and the first round seems to drag out longer than the other ones.

The pain is almost gone, does not = "tenendosis almost gone". That is a poor le to that article and a very non-medical assumption.

Sean Elliott says knee tendenosis is sometimes like "running on steak knives" until you get it repaired. Tim hasn't exactly had a lot of down time for his body to repair. I don't rule out the healing power of God, in fact I trust in it, but the article le assumes too much.
