This is true, also Duncan is in one the top 5 players of all time and the Mavericks won a ring in 2006.

Back on the subject, If Kobe keeps playing the way he has the past month or so this discussion will be dead fast cause the Lakers will only be playing ball for a few more weeks. Kobe has had some downright terrible games lately and has taken some downright terrible shots late in big games. Like last night in Portland...

Um...wow...yeah...not sure if biased even covers it. I like Kobe..he's a great player...he's not near Jordan's level, nor will he ever be. Jordan won 6 rings, and dominated the game in an era where the guards were not tended to or treated as superstars like they are today. Back when Jordan was playing, it was the big men who were tended to. Kobe plays in a league where the rules have changed, including the hand check being a penalty, along with others, which makes it a LOT easier to be a guard, and he still can't match Jordan. Jordan averages more points and more assists over a much longer period of time, including his years in his late 30's, in a league where the guard was treated like the bas stepchild of the league. Jordan > Kobe...it's not even close.

    PLEASE!!!!

Kobe couldnt even imitate Jordan properly without ing it up.

SERIOUSLY, WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??

Im sorry, Kobe is up there, but he is still a few grades down from the likes of Jordan. Either Kobe lovers are biased or they where too young to see Jordan's greatness.

At this point in time Kobe barely has the right to hold Magic's jock strap, let alone Jordan's

Jordan showing Kobe, in numbers, one of the many reasons why he will never be as good as him.

Jordan couldn't do anything until Pippen came along. Kobe has always been a solid player and brings his teams deep in the playoffs =D

Jordan scored 63 points at Boston in his second year in the league against one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Get a clue fevertree. Kobe's strength is his scoring yet Jordan averaged 30.1 pts per game in his career. Kobe is just a copycat. Kobe's great, but he's no MJ.

Seems like we all got a bunch of MJ fanboys in here who can't take the truth. If I remember correctly when Jordan was in the league he was one of the worst floppers around

OK, you're right. Devin Harris is a better player than Chris Paul.

Some of these post are almost laughable. MJ would dominate the leauge today just as he did in the past. in his last season at the age of 40 he averaged 20 pnts a game on 44.5% fg shooting..averaged 6 rebounds, almost 4 assist and 1.5 steals per game and had i believe 4 games of 40 or more pnts..tell me how many players can do that in the league right now??? and he did it at 40 wayyyy after the prime of his career. nuff said for me.

I'm a Laker fan but seriously stop with this nonsense. Kobe isn't even close to Jordans level. It's just the truth, if Kobe can actually step up and lead a team to a championship maybe I'd consider it closer but still, Kobe has to do something first.
    a championship? how about 6.

Jordan brought alot of attention to the sport and made it huge, but overall Kobe is a better player. Put Jordan and Kobe both in their prime 1 on 1, and Kobe would win.
It really doesn't matter. Both were/are great at the game of basketball.

You are an absolute idiot...wow...flopper? Jordan? You don't remember correctly, I guess. FLOPPING DIDN'T WORK BACK THEN, bag. Guards didn't get away with it. that's what I was trying to say about the rules changing to help the guards. Quit trying to make up. The truth? Nobody with a right mind would say Kobe is better than Jordan..nobody. That would be like saying Rajan Rondo is better than Chris Paul. Absolutely stupid. Give me ONE REASON..ONE THING that Kobe does that is better than Jordan..JUST ONE! Please..I'm begging you. Less rings, less stats, worse at getting the team involved, drove off the only reason his Lakers won any rings (Shaq)..I could go on and on.
