    He's on the money:

"...other teams respect [the Spurs], but they do not fear them... there used to be a bit of fear when teams played them, but not any more..."

And that's the D factor - we used to have a defense that coulkd simply stop the other team from scoring for 3-6 minutes at a time, but we lost that last year when Horry lost a step.
and we lost it even more this year when bruce lost a step.

All the more reason Nellie needs to go. Randolph is the real deal and if the Warriors were smart, they'd build around him.
Totally, Nellie is a joke... but he is also hooked up with the owners and just signed an extension, so he ain't going anywhere, which is a pity for Warriors fans.

well, with the Warriors missing their three best scorers, this had all the makings of a blow-out

the Warriors are building around Randolph..

Nelson didn't like him to start the season, in fact, he actually told him to ask for a trade IIRC..since he started playing more about 2 months ago, Nelson has completely given him the keys to the team though..

Thank god this is a route. Whenever the Spurs play a late night game that goes down to the wire, I'm too jacked up to get any sleep.

it would be nice to have two PG's with a quick drive to the basket. you know you're not going to see that from Jacque or Mason.
Yeah, you have to be able to punish the defense if it takes away the perimeter game.. a healthy TD will do that.. so will penetrations by Parker and Hill

beautiful move from Gooden..I thought they weren't going to call the foul there for a second, which would have been ridiculous..

    Ba-dum-bum-chish!

Don't believe the hype, I dig chicks.

Actually, that game was 30 December, and the next night I went to Ruby Sky, an amazing club in Downtown SF for NYE. The Crystal Method were playing, but I ended up spending most of the night in the back bar hangin with the DJ who was a huge, African-American linebacker type, and smoking blunts with him. He tried to hook me up with this chick, but she was a total biatch, so I let her play her games and just enjoyed the scenery instead.

Went home about 3am because I had to pick up a car to drive up the coast next day. Night I'll never forget though...
what hype? what rumors? i was just razzin ya.

spending 7 weeks in SF.....i just had to give you a hard time....but nothing like what you got in those bath houses......muhahahaha

    just kidding.

actually I want to go to SF. I want to see that real curvy street. I want to see the one that goes straight all the way down to the coast, i believe that is Lombard St. I wanna see the Golden Gate Bridge. If I had the money, I would go on one of those tour boats that allow you to go see Great White Sharks.

and we lost it even more this year when bruce lost a step.
    Exactly.

If you look at the progression - first Horry goes, then Bowen loses enough that he can't really change games consistently any more, then Tim's knees slowed him down, then Manu went out (he's not a great individual defender, but is a great steal gambler and helper) - it's not surprising where we've ended up i.e. a team that needs to score to win.

We need some youth to come in and turn that trend around - hopefully Gist/Hairston/Mahinmi will help.

unless the backups do something terribly, terribly wrong, we ain't seeing any more of Parker or Duncan, I predict. Maybe not even if they DO do something terrible.
