You have to make a play for the ball. You cannot just stand there and not go for the ball when a guy is jumping straight up. Just like with jump shooting, if you are not going for a block, you have to give the guy room to land.
Well now we know that Joey Crawford will be refereeing game 3.
Dampier's comments are a sad attempt at intimidating Parker. If Parker has proven anything thus far in his career, it's that he's not afraid to go into the paint.
He'll attack Shaq, he's sure as not afraid of Dampier.
Thanks for getting our attention and keeping us focused for game 3 moron.

And you would know all about low blows. Still havnt seen your press pass.![]()
If a guy slams into you and knocks you over, then that's the exact definition of drawing a charge. You can't avoid drawing a charge in that scenario. One thing is to brace yourself for impact, another is to lower your shoulder and get your elbow out. At any rate, I agree it probably shouldn't have been called a flagrant, but it was a move nonetheless.
Again, I can understand, although I think the foul was called more due to the fact that he hit the floor hard, as opposed to the contact.
Terry had wayyyyyyy worse fouls than the flagrant in the game. He had 2 plays where he purposely undercut someone from behind (shove in the lower back while they were in the air).
But the flagrant was a flagrant no matter how you look at it. It was a body check and that is definitely not a normal basketball movement.
Dampier. he's a punkass thug just like howard and terry. they fit in perfectly together.
we'll see were the NBA's loyalties and fairness lies if this does happen.
I don't feel that he really lowered his shoulder and stuck his elbow out as much as you and some spurs fans say, but whats done is done. fact is, we are on opposite sides, and will see things very differently.
the only thing i care about is seeing a good basketball series, and hoping the Mavs come out on top.

I doubt the NBA is loyal to either side. SA is a small market and Cuban has pissed off Stern more times than you can count.
If there was a such thing as the NBA favoring a team in this situation, which there isn't, I would say its pretty even.
Parker's got it coming.
I've already paid the refs to sway a few calls in my favor as i've already booked them a trip for three in Maui this summer
this is typical of a classless opponent...whenever the Spurs start to lay the hammer down on classless teams....they try to punk us....it never fails...but like ive said before....this aint the Spurs of the early 90's...they better come up w/ a better plan than that...
And BTW, I didn't think we got any favors from the refs at home at all. Not that I expected any. If I had to point out calls that did not go in our favor, I would say Damp got away with murder in game 1, plus his moving screens are no different than KT's, but KT seems to be the only one getting called for them. Lots of late whistles bailing out Dirk in the 1st half yesterday. The phantom foul call on JET at halftime. Things that did go on our favor: the Terry flagrant one, a couple of no-calls on Dirk that will be called in Dallas, Bowen being edward scissorhands on Barea a couple times.
Yet, I don't think they really influenced in the outcome of both games. We didn't play playoff basketball in the first game, and we paid dearly for it. I think Dallas got complacent in game two, and we ran them over.
cant forget 08
brent barry foul was a momentum changer. we couldve beat that celts team.
Terry definitely got fouled on the last play of the first half.
You know, when I saw the foul the first time I didn't think it was that big of a deal either. Then I saw Pop yapping, and when they showed the replay from the other side, you can see what he did. I still didn't think it was a flagrant, but I thought it was cheap.
oh now we got Spur Fan blaming the refs against the Lakers last year too.
I'm now convinced that the Spurs should be going for their 10th in a row but David Stern finds a way to screw them over every year.
useless piece of fat
no argument here, lol.
but sometimes, cheap stuff like that is neccesary in basketball, and all championship teams do things like that from time to time. while i think the sport has no need for "punking", fact is, it exists. so if there will be any "punking", its better to punk them before they punk you.
You said that the Spurs "definitely have gotten home-court advantage" regarding the officiating. I wanna know what you have to support that statement other than the view through your Homer glasses, because Spurs fans are probably just as upset about the officiating as Mavs fans. Like you said, both sides are going to see things differently.
1. How exactly does missed calls help your argument? You think the Mavs deserved a BIGGER disparity then what they got? Or do you agree that the refs were choking on their whistles against the Spurs?
2. I got your point. Your point was that the Spurs got more calls due to HCA (and that would even out when Mavs had HCA). I disputed that, and provided supporting arguments. Do you want me to draw you a diagram?
3. All that whining about Parker pushing off and Nowitzki getting hacked sounded a little like blaming the refs to me, but apparently it's only 'crying' when Spurs fans do it.
Let me know when you come up with an argument better than denial and name calling.
You think? By who? Bowen?... Mason most DEFINITELY barely put his hand on him, but there was no push or anything. I knew they were gonna call something when Terry stuck his leg out like somebody shot at him.
jw, but how did the Spurs get screwed in 01 when they got swept by the Lakers?
Yes, Bowen fouled him. I think it should have been called before the shot and 2 FT's, but they called it late and on Mason, who although there was not a ton of contact, if you touch the shooter's arm, it is a foul.
I got you. Barkley says you have to do that all the time. We used to have an enforcer like that in Kevin Willis. But you don't go out there and say you're gonna do that. That's beyond imbecile, because now refs are going to be looking at you funny.
2001 the lakers were the superior team
That's right.
