Almost seriously, this season began to come undone when Tiago Splitter decided [smartly for him] to stay in Europe and Ian became injured. The dominoes then began to tumble. Without two young, athletic almost seven- footers we are forced to go to Bonner as a starter and resign Thomas as a valuable sub. I luv Thomas' grit but we need players[besides Timmy] who can defend at the rim when he's on the bench. The best block of the season was by Manu coming out of nowhere. We were supposed to get younger and more athletic this year---we didn't. Mason was a great replacement for Barry but Barry would have actually been a better fit as a backup point guard. With the three Amigoes we still can compete IF we have the right players. Time to take a serious run at Splitter and hope that Mahimni is 100% for the summer. Next season will then become what this season was supposed to be.
